Rating: Summary: im impressed Review: this was a wonderful book. i could hardly put it down, and through the whole thing i was thinking 'whats going to happen next?'i find one falt in this book, and it is the ne reason why it does not get a 5. the ending. it just ends. u dont learn about lord death and crystal, and only a little about the brothers, but other than that, this book was phnominal. i was especily impressed with lord death. to make it short... one of the best thought out charicters i have ever read about, who has both strengths and weaknesses. wonderful book! read it!
Rating: Summary: Wow... Review: This was an EXCELENT book. I would give it all of the stars in the world if I could. I have read a lot of books, and this is close to the top of my list, if not ON the top. It ran smoothly and it was all connected. I felt like I knew all of the charectors, and I ADORED the ending! Lord Death, and Crystal were wounderful people! I would recomened this book to EVERYONE!
Rating: Summary: an unexpected pleasure Review: when i picked up this book i did not expect it to be this well written and interesting. It has the usual aspects of wizards and magic yet it adds something special with a touch of mythology. I enjoyed reading this book very much.
Rating: Summary: Lets see... Review: Wizard of the grove was a well-written book, but it had some flaws. The first time I started to reed this book I stopped at page 92, about 1/3 of the way through the first book. The problem was all but one minor character died at that point. I found it very depressing, and the first 2 or so chapters after this are not very interesting, and don't draw the reader in. Don't get me wrong, I really liked the first 90 pages. The problem I have with that part is most of the information is unnecessary although it does provide a background for later events. I think that this part could have easily been summed up in a prolog without distracting from the story. I found the book for the most part very indepth, with some very funny parts. Most of the story was very well written, but it fell apart at the end. The solution was very unexpected, happening very quickly and left somewhat unexplained. Up until the solution I understood perfectly what was happening, but the solution happened within about a page; I had no idea what was going on, even after rereading it several times. When I finished it I was left uncertain of what happened to the most important characters, leaving me feeling uncertain about what happened instead of joy at a story well ended and complete. I was left contemplating what had happened to Death, where did he go? (I don't want to give it away)Over all this was a good book that I recommend reading from a library. I also suggest you start reading on page 92 (chapter 6) and reed at least two chapters before starting the first part of the book. The first 5 chapters and interlude start at least a couple hundred years before the rest of the book so can be skipped until the story begins to draw you in. Over all I think Wizard of the Grove deserves a 41/2 but the end brings it down to about a 31/2.
