Rating: Summary: This is an incredible book and an incredible series Review: Tara K. Harper's Wolfwalker series are the best books I've ever read! You feel like you are actually part of the action. While reading it, I had to check more than once that it was my lab and not gray Hishn breathing down my neck! This book is for anyone. It not only tells the tale of a couragous healer, but it helps you look into your own hopes and dreams and ambitions. It's one of those series you can read over and over and never get sick of it! Take it from someone who knows, I've read it five times!
Rating: Summary: Greatest book I every read! Review: The characters are all fantastically writen. The action scenes are complex and exciting. The book appeals to both guys and girls. Action, comedy, and emotions all packed in this and the other two books of the Wolfwalker series. READ THEM ALL!
Rating: Summary: A Genuine Page-Turner, You will not be able to put it down Review: This book has everything you could ever want in one of its kind. It has swords, fighting, slavery, romance, very cool characters, an awesome plot, superb battle scenes, and most of all wolves...that's the greatest part about it, which sets it apart from so many other books. By far the best part in the book is the bond between Dion and Grey Hishn, that alone made it a great book, but since it was a wolf that she was bonded to it sent it off the charts. Go out right now and buy this book and the others that are in the series with it! After you're through reading it, you'll want to fight with Dion and Hishn, run through the woods with them, and Howl at the moon with them!
Rating: Summary: Engaging Review: This book is a wonderful fantasy about a women who has a physic connection to a wolf. She goes on a heroic and sad adventure that is fun to read. Though Tara K Harper is not the best writer with her descriptions though her ideas are fantastic and intriguing. I am waiting breathlessly for the next book to come in the series of this Sci/Fi adventure. If you have ever read any Anne McAffrey I recommend this for you.
Rating: Summary: A hard, grippping novel! Review: This book is by far the best Sci-fi books out there! Well, if you like wolves and the fast paced action! This book actually grips you and won't let go. I read plenty of Sci-fi books that are just so boring that what was the point in finishing it, but not this one. The book will make you re-read,e ven if you don't like the idea of female Wolfwalkers ruling the series. I honestly wish for A Male Wolfwalker to star the show. But that isn't what makes this book the best! The action is so descripive, it makes you feel that you are a wolfwalker yourself and that you can actually feel the environment with the character. I recomend this book if your reading this review right now. Its too damn good to say more in words!
Rating: Summary: It was a wonderful book!!! Review: This book was about Dion and her twin brother who set out on an adventure, one that they can never forget. As a healer and a wolfwalker she saves lives, heals, and guids friends through the forest. She also find something she never thought could happen, Love.
Rating: Summary: An adventure to feed a woman's soul Review: This first in a series is both groundbreaking and pace-setting in it's excellence! Ember Dion is a character to befriend and admire. Never before have I seen a female character so well written. At last there is a series of books that is fun, spellbinding, and inspiring...at last there is a female character who is strong, calm, competent, insightful and nurturing with none of the addle brained hysterics so often seen in fiction, print media and otherwise. Wolfwalker is a work women can applaud, and with whom they can identify. Not to mention there is enough action, adventure and excitement to well entertain both genders. Bravo, Tara!
Rating: Summary: I loved it!! Review: This is one of my all-time favorite novels (as you would be able to tell if you could see how battered it is from being read over and over again!). The relationship between Dion and her wolf pal, Hishn, is just so awe-inspiring that it makes you wish you could telepathically speak to animals!! This book has everything...drama, action, and even some romance (hubba, hubba). And it has wolves!!! I LOVE WOLVES!!! (heck, I went to college to study them!). But even if you don't like wolves as religiously as I do, this is a great novel. I will admit that I didn't enjoy the later novels as much (Grayheart, especially). That's probably because I became so attached to Dion, Hishn, and their friends that nothing else would do!! You can read all the books in the series if you want to, but read this one for sure!!! It's great!
Rating: Summary: Begining the adventure Review: This is the first book in Harper's first series. I read this book after 'Cat Scratch Fever' and 'Cataract' were finished. I was hungry for more writing by the artist, and so I searched high and low to find all three books in the series. In this first book, we are introduced to Dion, a very unusual woman. One day I hope the author writes a prequel, that details some of what the girl's growing up years must have been like. Suffice it to say, she is warrior trained, a healer by choice dedicated to saving lives, and a wolfwalker. Wolfwalkers are introduced to the reader in this series. They are humans who are drawn to wolves, and capable of working/communicating the wolves. In this story, Dion begins a tale that will last 5 books and three generations of children. Dion begins the road to becoming a legend. It's interesting how a few twists in circumstances can completely change the road you walk. She faces a few very important decisions: the large sense of responsibility she has for those around her, because she has knowledge and skill that others don't have, and how far that responsibility should extend; the decision to save lives, following her healer-rank oaths; the responsibility to take lives while protecting herself, her loved ones, and those that are defenceless. It is the conflict between these three that sucks in the reader and refuses to let go. I highly suggest this book to anyone who likes action, adventure, tough decisions, great fighting scenes, and personal relationships. This book was quite an eye opener, and a great introduction to the amazing worlds out there waiting for us to visit. (Or maybe not waiting.. maybe dreading..)
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Adventure! Review: With "Wolfwalker", Tara Harper has succeeded in creating a rich and detailed environment filled with interesting characters and an exciting story. Dion, the main character, is delightful as a woman who is strong and compelling while not defying credibility. (Based on her biography at the back of the book, one gets the impression that Dion is very much like Ms. Harper herself.) She's a terrific female lead, one of the best I've seen in Sci-Fi and Fantasy stories. I recommend this story to anyone who loves fantasy, science fiction, wolves, or all of the above -- and while you're at it, pick up the other books in the series, too! You won't regret it.
