Rating: Summary: Very good book, but I am into now time, not space time Review: Ms. Gerritsen always outdoes herself with her writing. I did enjoy the book, but would have prefered if it was strictly earth time. I will continue buying Ms. Gerritsen's books. They are all winners.
Rating: Summary: Great cover masks mediocre book Review: I love science and modern medicine thrillers (as opposed to science fiction) and anticipated something rather special with this book: something well written, intelligent and original. Sadly, I was disappointed. GRAVITY has some good detail and a plot that basically works, but the writing was surprisingly flat and unintelligent. Above all, I felt the story lacked a clever or original premise - which for me is the main thing. Good new ideas are obviously in very short supply. But what a cover!
Rating: Summary: This book will make your heart beat faster! Review: This is one great fascinating thriller. It was very well researched and very well written. It reveals an insight into the world of astronaut's, space travel and research like no book I have read before. My wife can't wait to read it and I know that she will give it five stars also. To. read it is to like it. Orchids to Tess Gerritsen!
Rating: Summary: disappointing Review: i read t.g.'s harvest and life support and absolutely could not wait for this book to come out. what a big disappointment. as someone who can read 3 novels a week, this novel took me a month to struggle through.
Rating: Summary: Cardboard characters and a pasty plot. Review: I enjoyed Ms. Gerritsen's 3 previous books but this one was so formula ridden and full of soap opera emotion that I shall be very reluctant to pick up her next book. For me all the book had to offer was one interesting concept. Even the "horror" was B- movie contrived. Less forgivable, her science is newspaper article thin. Reviewers keep comparing her to Michael Crichton but she's just not in the same league as him. This book compares very poorly with "The Andromeda Strain". Anyway, 3 out of 4 isn't bad. And the book does have great dust jacket graphics.
Rating: Summary: Gerritsen replaces King Review: With the flops that King keeps writing, I had to find something to keep me interested in reading, so I turn to the old standby, Tess Gerritsen. The story is wonderful. It is one part Abyss, one part Apollo 13, and two parts Jurassic Park (just switch dinosaurs with viruses). Keep up the great work, as you are now my King!
Rating: Summary: So much for being an astronaut......... Review: Ok. You know what. I don't want to be an astronaut when I grow up. I'll have to fall back on my second choice... whatever that was (it certainly wasn't what I'm actually doing!)Anyhow. What a page turner. Not exactly what I expected from her, but welcomed none the less. Could not put it down.
Rating: Summary: Good book - interesting space information Review: Purchased the book while waiting for flights from GSO - ATL - IND today and found the book very interesting. Quick read also! Particularly liked the sections dealing with the space station and NASA. A quick read - I would recommend waiting for the paperback to come out!
Rating: Summary: I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN - REALLY! Review: This is the first book I've read by Tess Gerritson--and it was awesome! I was engrossed in it right from the beginning. This is truly a book that you won't want to put down, even when it's finished. It only took me a day to read it, it's that good.
Rating: Summary: Thoroughly engrossing Review: Tess Gerritsen is one of those rare authors who just seems to keep going from strength to strength. Gravity is definitely her best yet. Although the plot was somewhat predictible, the story and character building was done so masterfully that once you open the book to start reading you cannot put it down until the end. A friend actually called in sick at work so as to finish reading the book! T Gerritsen manages to ensnare you so well in this story that you cannot help feeling all the same emotions as her characters. Well done - looking forward to the next one!
