Summary: WOW!!
Review: Tess Gerritsen did it again! Her novel "Gravity" kept me reading all night until I finished the book! This novel is fast paced and full of suspence. I applaud Gerritsen for the amount of research that has gone into writing this book. I can't wait for the movie to come out. If it stays true to the novel, it will be a movie blockbuster.

Summary: Spellbinding!
Review: First off, I want to tip my hat to Tess Gerritsen for all the intense research that she had to do for this book. Wow, I almost feel like I could launch a rocket now. This is the first Tess Gerritsen I've had the pleasure of reading. I couldn't put it down Gravity is truly a spellbinding book. Ms. Gerritsen does a great job of characterization, even with the minor characters. I felt as if I knew each one personally. The plot is tight with loads of suspense. There were a couple of spots in the plot that I questioned, nothing that hurt the story. I see that the rights for Gravity have been sold for a movie. All I can say to that is they had better do it right! This is a wonderful story, believe me this will not be my last Tess Gerritsen. I'm going back and dig up her other books. They have to be good. People who write like this can't turn in a bad book. Thanks for the fun Ms. Gerritsen.

Summary: 'Must Read' for all fans of this genre
Review: For booksellers who haven't figured it out yet: business travelers can make/break authors. My guess is that more books are purchased in airport shops overall than any single bookstore chain in a given year. Gerritson is destined to become one of the most sought after authors at the airport.

Tess Gerritson is the best 'newcomer' to the [murder, medical, forensic] mystery/thriller genre that I have found. Introduced to this author through "Gravity," I have subsequently made an effort to find her previous books. "Gravity" is her greatest achievement thus far, showing a steady growth toward excellence as she matures in her craft. "Gravity" is - most definitely - one of the best books I have read in this genre in the past year.

Gerritson is a consummate storyteller. If you have ever heard yourself say, "Just let me finish this chapter," you will find yourself saying instead, "just let me finish this book." Like Grisham, Patterson, Cornwell, and Grafton, Gerritson knows how to end a chapter so that it is almost impossible to put the book down.

Like Crichton, her scientific research is impressive. The technical details are reasonably accurate without overwhelming the reader with too much depth. Gerritson never loses sight of her characters or the plot.

Thrilling and unpredictable, Gerritson reels you into a story of infinite excitement. As Stephen King writes in the inside cover reviews, "Gravity" is a "must read."

Summary: Michael Crichton, move over
Review: For many years Andromeda Strain has been the benchmark novels about humans being invaded by alien substances. Not any more. Gerritsen's novel is Andromeda Strain raised to a power. It describes a creature that invades human hosts and literally becomes the host by bonding with the host's DNA. It is impossible to treat those who are infected with antibiotics or any other kind of "normal" medical amunition, since anything that will kill the organism will also kill the human host. As an additional complication, the whole thing takes place in the International Space Station (ISS), and all rescue attempts meet with devastating failure and additional loss of life. The characters are so real you feel that you've met them somewhere. I got the feeling as I was reading that everything was happening to ME. I became the characters, felt their pain, frustration, and sickness and had to read on to find out how I could be cured. Finally, Gerritsen's story is complete. No cop-out endings and no loose ends. When you close the book you breathe a huge sigh of relief. You don't have to wait for the next book to see how it ends. I can't wait for the movie.

Summary: She got the NASA details right!!
Review: I am an engineer at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. My Dad sent me this book because he recognized a couple of projects that I had worked on. I haven't been able to put it down! The amazing thing to me is the grasp that the author has on what goes on behind the scenes at NASA, and what would be going through the minds of flight controllers, directors, and the politics surrounding it all. So often NASA is not portrayed accurately, but this was right on the mark, even if the storyline was fictional. I am going to have to go out and buy all of her other novels now. She is such a fantastic author!

Summary: Great read
Review: This book was given to me by my mother-in-law and I didn't know what to expect. I've been a fan of Crichton, Cook, and Palmer for years and Stephen King said it was better than all of these guys so thats a high praise. Boy was Mr. King right on the mark. This book was a great read. It was filled with a lot of suspense. It was one of those books that you just had to keep on reading because the earlier chapters end with such a bang. Pick up this book, you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Fantastic Book
Review: I've found that I'm more drawn by plot than genre, but still I was hesitant to read this book, since I'd never before read a medical thriller. I'm glad that I did. Tess Gerritsen is a great author who not only creates realistic, sympathetic characters, but who also places those characters in infinitely believable situations. The magic of this book is that the reader is able to picture everything that takes place; even the fantastic seems possible.

Summary: Hold on for the ride of your life!
Review: Recently, as I was standing in line at the supermarket, waiting to pay for my groceries, my eye was attracted to something staring at me; it was the captivating cover of Tess Gerritson's engrossing novel, "Gravity". Being a sci-fi geek, I quickly wrote down the name of the novel on my hand after reading the plot, and went to the library to get it. It is surly safe to say that this novel is certainly better than Cook, or yes, even Crichton. I was so engaged by this novel, that I felt guilty putting it down. The way Gerritsen writes is so powerful, that I can't help but feel like I'm in the novel. The charaters are so well developed and refered to, that it's impossible to lose track of who is who. There is nothing about this novel that seems cliched, impractical, or just overworked like many sci-fi novels, even the greats, are victims of. Like I have done to all my friends and family, I recomend this novel to all who are not dyslexic. This will entertain you whether you hate sci-fi or love it, because there is no writer who can weave a web of words as magically as Tess Gerritson has for "Gravity"!

Summary: Outstanding drama; excellent science fiction
Review: I'm not sure why I picked up this book; it was either in an airport shop or while shopping for groceries. :-) Regardless of my reasons at the time, this was my first experience with Gerritsen, who is now definitely on my list of authors to watch. This is a very gripping story, and well worth the read. I give it 5.0 stars for the writing and drama, and 4.75 stars for the science fiction. (There are a couple of issues I found the tiniest bit unacceptable.) I'd rate this 'PG' because of some of the graphic descriptions, but otherwise 'G' for 'Great.'
