Rating: Summary: Good Bio-hazard Page Turner! Review: Bought this to read on a flight to Asia, and was not disappointed - the combination of bio-hazard and space thriller came together with some very good scientific underpinnings that made this a very enjoyable read. As for life in the space station and at mission control, the scenes and characters are fleshed out enough to make a good story. The divorce scenes are realistic enough without going overboard (but the reconcilation at the end a bit too Hollywood). The Military Bio-hazard guys, however, are more like cartoons, and Tess could use a lesson or two from Tom Clancy if she's going to include more scenes of this nature. The best thing, however, was a very fascinating bio-organism mechanism that presented a real puzzle, and seemed to be very believable. As the disease unfolds and changes, you learn a bit about gentics and biology in the process, and the thing sems very possible. You leave with the sense that mankind dodged another bio-hazard bullet, and that it's very good to be alive and healthy. Take it on your next trip through the stratosphere and you won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: A true can't-put-down read! Review: This book kept me engrossed during a long day of weathered-delayed flights. I read on the plane, I read in the terminal, I read in the limo to my hotel and finished up that night in my hotel. Just a totally compelling book.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down Review: This was a real page turner. You just can't wait to find out what is going to happen next. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars were some of the obvious plot devices introduced, to me at least. Example, Jack's emergency-only-done-it-once before procedure in the beginning of the book, and the Apogee II. Otherwise, good stuff.
Rating: Summary: She's done it again !!! Review: Once again Tess Gerritsen has written a book that I couldn't put down. When I see a new release by her, I buy it without checking to see what it's about. I know I'll LOVE it. My only problem with her is that she can't write fast enough to satisfy my Hunger.
Rating: Summary: Spectacular and breathtaking Review: This book is awesome and a must read for anyone who likes medical thrillers!!!!
Rating: Summary: This book will be number one soon..... Review: I have always enjoyed Tess Gerritsen's books-I am a big fan of medical and forensic thrillers, and my other huge passion is that of astronomy, cosmology, spaceflight-and whether or not we are alone. Gerritsen has done an incredible job of combining these two sciences, keeping me on the edge of my seat, and tears in my eyes. Her story shows NASA at its best, dealing with incredible hardships. I commend Gerritsen for an excellent read. If you ever wished you could be an astronaut when you grew up, but ended up with the next best thing-medicine-this book will not only amaze you, it will make you think of WHAT'S OUT THERE.....Great job Tess! Renee' B., RN BSN/EMT-I and amateur astronomer!
Rating: Summary: Best Gerritsen yet. Review: The lady doctor researcher rises to the challenges of the space station lab. The lady doctor author demonstrates impressive familiarity with Cape Canaveral, its artifacts and personnel. Biological developments are reminiscent of "Alien". Best Gerritsen yet.
Rating: Summary: To touch the stars. Review: I would have liked to have been able to read this through in a few short days, but I had to breathe in-between the chapters. I found myself literally holding my breath. I only have one question. How did they get back? Emma and her almost ex-husband were left there with what it seems to be no-way home.
Rating: Summary: This is a suspenseful, white-knuckle thriller. Review: "Gravity" is another frightening, graphic thriller from Tess Gerritsen. Her strength is not character development or sparkling dialogue. There is no graphic sex and there are few romantic interludes. What Gerritsen does is scare you half to death. She does impeccable research in this novel about a bunch of astronauts who are stuck in a space station with a deadly, infectious organism. Her research is unbelievable. You feel as if you are on the space station with these hapless astronauts. She owes a debt of gratitude to Crichton's "Andromeda Strain," a book that I am sure she had in mind when she wrote this. As Stephen King says in the blurb on the book jacket, you will be up into the night reading this to see how everything unfolds.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful and entertaining read!!! Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It is the first Gerritsen book I have had the joy to read. It was good!! I liked the characters and she did an excellent job on the plot. The ending was good, but not as complex as it could have been (in my opinion). I'll say, though, I look forward to reading her other books and any book in the future. I finished "Gravity" in three days. Enjoy this book.
