Summary: New Quirks with every read
Review: I've been reading Eddings since Grade 8, and continue to re-read each book in the Belgariad and Mallorean series. Each time I read a book in the series, I notice and pick up little bits of information that I somehow missed the first 5 times I read it. To me, a great series is one which you can reread, and have a different experience each time and both the BElgariad and the Mallorean have that quality.

Summary: It was the best
Review: If your thinking about buying this item, do so! Eddings works the charactor's personalities magnificently. This is the best series ever written! Once I finish Pawn of Prophicey, I baought every book of his that he wrote on Garion, Polgara, Belgarath, etc... The charactors are so real, you feel you've known Garion his entire life! Once you start reading, you won't stop. Trust me, buy it!

Summary: Young man discovers his destiny to save the world from evil.
Review: In David Edding's Belgariad, we follow the life and adventures of Garion, a young farmboy that discovers that he has been chosen by prophecy to rid the world of the evil god Torak. Along with his very distant ancestors (Belgarath and Polgara), and several close friends that he meets along the way, young Garion travels half the world on a quest to kill a god. As the "Child of Light", Garion discovers many remarkable things about his family and himself, as well as about life, love and responsiblility. The Belgariad is an artful fantasy that will capture your heart, mind and imagination

Summary: I wish it would never end!
Review: My elementary school librarian first gave me "pawn of the prophecy" to review when I was in Grade 7. I can never thank her enough. Although it was a bit slow to begin with his books just kept getting better and better. I even mamnaged to get my little brother, an avowed readerr of Asterix and "Calvin and Hobbes"(had to have pictures) to read them. His first real books were the Elenium and then the Belgariad which he enjoyed because of the detail and sword fights. We now own alll 4 series between the two of us and probably soon be fighting over who owns which copy when I move out. THe spanish copies are definitely mine. From Tolkien and the lord of the rings David Eddings is a great author to start out with in fantasy and sci/fi. He'll also keep you coming back for more.

Summary: Edding's Best!
Review: Of all of David Edding's great fantasy works, The Belgariad stands out as the best. It has by far the most interesting characters, and yet they are "human" enough for us to be able to dientify with them. Garion's adventures and realtionships are exciting and interesting, and certainly are entertaining enough to make you want to read all of the books in the series. The plots also have lots of twists and turns, but true enough the apparently loose ends all come together at the end - a sure sign of a well crafted tale.

If you can find these books as a set, then buy it. If not purchase them all as individual books - they are certainly worth it.

Summary: The Belgariad/The Mallorean
Review: So often Science Fiction and Fantasy authors create books that are based only on action and contrived plots with one dimensional cardboard characters. Eddings true gift is in supplying wonderful characters who are fully developed and whose motivations are realistic. Generally female characters within this genre are ineffectual and uninteresting, basically window dressing to the hero. Eddings has strong female characters that are as good, as bad, as silly, as powerful, as weak and as complicated as the male characters. I wish more writers had this type of insight. Oh yeah, great storyline too

Summary: one of the best fantasy seris's ever written
Review: some of the best books I've ever read Eddings is a genuis when it comes to writing he makes you feel as though you're right in the middle of all the action

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: the best of edding's series
Review: The absolutely best seried Eddings has written. It beats out all the others. Eddings is one of the greatest authors of our times, and this is the best he has written to date.
I have read it three times, and find something new and exciting each time. I have lent it to my friends. They all became hooked as well.
I don't want to inadvertantly give any of the plot away, so I won't discuss the story, but I will tell you that you will not regret reading any of his works, this in particular.
