Rating: Summary: Authors attempting to end series with actual second coming Review: It seems to me that the authors are doing everything that they can to stretch out this series. The last few books I was able to read in about two sittings, and that was disappointing. It seems to be that the authors are... a.) attempting to time events in the book with the potential second coming, b.) try to hold off finishing because they don't know how to finish the story, or c.) as someone else also stated, they're trying to turn this into an even bigger cashcow.Regarding this book I think the page count has gone down or at least the margins have gotten bigger and the text bigger making the book have much less content. I am rating this book a three because if you started to read this series you have to keep reading it...there will not be anything in this book that will make you say "wow" however.
Rating: Summary: Lame!!! Review: That's it, I have given my last dime to LaHaye and Jenkins!! I thought book 9 was bad, but this one is even more boring. The last 4 books could have been combined into 2. Obviously this story is being strung out to what end I don't know...money I suppose. Not very becomming guys. This book is wordy, repeatitive, and lacking in creativity. It's entertainment value is zero. This is sad for a series that started out so great and had such good potential to end up like this. Could they at least get the firearms details right? Guys, an Uzi uses a "magazine" not a "clip" and your description of the recoil of the .50 caliber weapon is a gross exaggeration. Bottom line, this book goes nowhere fast. I used to read them to at least see how things finish up. This series has become so tedious that I no longer even care about that.
Rating: Summary: pseudo-theology packaged as entertainment Review: It is a good sci-fi story BUT nothing ...and I mean NOTHING in it is theologically sound. False prophecy abounds! It is a seductive and dangerous premise that Christians need to abandon. Do your homework. Check it out and see for yourself.
Rating: Summary: Fast Read Review: Book 10 is mostly an action book that covers a longer time period than the earlier books in the series. It didn't leave as much of a cliffhanger ending as some of the pervious books.
Rating: Summary: The Remnant Review: Talk about being left behind. This book just drags on and on. I really enjoyed the books before this one. I guess I had my expectations too high. It is taking me forever to get through this book.......3/4 th's through it at the time of this review. I am determined to read the whole book. If anyone has trouble going to sleep at night, this book ought to help.
Rating: Summary: Too wordy & repetitiousI Review: I read the first two-thirds of this book hoping for some action and less conversation. Finally in the last third the plot picked up. This book is not up to the standard of the rest. I thought it was very tedious reading, in fact very boring.
Rating: Summary: Christ will come again before this series ends... Review: This series began as a unique, fast paced story, and the characters became people you cared about. However, things have gone awry. In earlier books, the reader allowed unbelievable story lines for the sake of the story (every inch of the Anti-Christ's world is listened in on by a teen-age hack), but the author is now taxing these liberties. (An American with a thick country accent passes for a Greek highway repairman?) The first half of the book is slow, although the action picks up towards the end. If you have read books 1-9, The Remnant covers the same ground again (and again). The same character profile and story line are recycled - unlikely heroes hop on a plane to squeak out of trouble. (Apparently, there are lots of pilots left after the rapture.) The authors have just introduced too many characters (they do provide a small bio for major characters), not allowing the reader to develop any feeling towards these thin personalities. Also, Carpathia, is a complete idiot and more of a jerk boss than frightful and evil. (Why does a lower demon know all details of some believers who have slipped into an evil trap set for others, but the anti-Christ cannot find a 19-year-old working in his office?) This series could have been handled in four books, but the merchandise has to keep coming. (How long until we see a "Tribulation Force Praise Album" or Tsion Ben-Judah Study Bible?) I found myself skimming pages in search of action, but I was left reading about too many insignificant details. If you want a quicker paced series, look at the Christ Clone Trilogy.
Rating: Summary: Disappointment Review: I have followed this series and hoped for much more. It is more than clear that these writers are only out for financial gain. Each book I hoped for something better, I hoped they would open their eyes to the real reason we are reading these books, inspiration and entertainment. I can see no entertainment in mindless dribble and the story line is so far off course. If they were looking to write sci-fi or war novels they should have pursued that instead. This is my last, I recommend anyone to spend their money more wisely. How much more could this drag on, While we wait for something to happen these authors are out spending your money talking of how to keep this going for another 10 books. Flush these authors and their books!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Its almost over... Review: Well besides the plot gaps near the end of the story, I found it very entertaining. Things are almost over for the Trib Force as they have literally scattered across the world. As usual, I can't wait for the next book. Too bad it doesn't come out till next year...
Rating: Summary: The Remnant Review: I think all of the Left Behind books are wonderful, but for some reason " The Remnant" was slow to build suspense and had alot of time gaps. I still encourage people to read the series, because of the literal interpretation of Revelation, you can really go back into your Bible and say," Oh yeah, I understand that because that happened to Rayford and Chloe and that's what it means." I don't agree with some who say that the end of the Great Tribulation is "The End" of the world, because the world will never end,( Revelation 21:3-4)
