Summary: Ready for the end?
Review: Waiting for this series to unfold is giving new meaning to the word "eternity".

If you've read books 1 through 9, it's unlikely this review will sway you. You're hooked. Gotta read the latest. Like me.

Number 10 was a little slower than the best of the series. I'm spoiled. I want more dramatic miracles. More action! More angels vs. bad guys!! More drama!

On page 221, Remnant reads, " There were victims to grieve, martyrs to parise, and much work ahead...He was willing to hang in and work in his office during the day, doing his real work after hours, for as long as God chose to protect him." This pretty much sums up the content and the pace of this book.

Knowing how the story ends, there is a lot more ahead. I'm ready for the end; of the world and of this series.

Summary: Consider...
Review: Could there be more off-shoots and volumes of the Left Behind saga? Indeed there will. I must admit, the relentless marketing and didactic writing make me weary of the whole enterprise. But bashing the series doesn't do any good. I would instead urge anyone who is fascinated by this series to at least consider the fact that the millenial views it espouses have only recently gained this level of acceptance. In fact, it was in 19th century America that dispensational premillenialism exploded. The history of the Church does contain premillenial views, but other views of Revelation and the end times have had great support. Please consider a book like Mark Noll's Scandal of the Evangelical Mind, particularly its discussion of how these views came to thrive in the American context.

Summary: Not up to par
Review: I have read them all. The first nine were excellent, however, number 10 leaves me cold. I had a difficult time remembering all of the characters. It seems that there are too many to keep up with now. The first 150 pages were more of a "catch up" exercise and not a new plot.

The biblical truths were good. I believe as Dr Lahaye does and find no fault there, but please try in the future to leave out some of the characters. It's too confusing.

Summary: It could have been better.
Review: I'm a big Left Behind fan, but this book just didn't do it for me. It was as though the authors realized suddenly that they were 10 books into a 12 book series and only halfway through the 7 years, and they had to pick up the pace. So large portions of time were just skipped over.
I'm going to continue reading the series, but I hope the rest of the books aren't like this one. A disappointing 10th book in an otherwise wonderfully addictive series.

Summary: Why can't these books come out quicker?
Review: I am not even finished with The Remnant, and already I know that it is going to be a terribly long wait for the next installment of one of the greatest book series that I've ever read. Jerry Jenkins knows exactly how to get his reader inside the head of his characters, to make you feel like you are in the middle of all the action, actually living through the apocalyptic times after the Rapture. To any who have not yet started reading this series I must tell you to start right away, don't be one of the ones "Left Behind"!

Summary: Uneven Entry in the Series
Review: This book picks up exactly where the last one ended. Carpathia has just dropped two bombs on Petra, where a million believers, including Rayford, have gone to take refuge during the second half of the tribulation. Chloe, Hannah, and Mac have just arrived in Greece to rescue George from the GC forces. But things don't go smoothly. The GC has begun to figure things out, and no one is safe anymore. Can the Trib Force continue to witness and help their brothers and sisters while remaining safe?

This book starts with a bang, literally. The suspense is tight for the first half, as characters are constantly in danger. But then the pace lags. The second half isn't nearly as well plotted or exciting as the first. I was disappointed by the lack of development that happened here. Still, fans will want to keep reading to find out what happens next to their favorite characters. I know I did.

The problems of poor writing and cardboardish characters continue to plague this book. Still, it's diverting and fans of the series will find it worth their time. Non-fans of the series will want to steer clear of the book since there's nothing here to change their minds

Summary: The end is coming but they still come up with ideas
Review: I don't think they publicized the release of this book very well. I was walking in a bookstore and saw it...and OF COURSE...has to have it!

I, like many others, was disappointed with Book 9. I thought that the series had grown too quickly and the authors were struggling for words to fill up the rest of the series. So I bought the book expecting another disappointing story. I was so glad to see the return of the great story that was in the earlier books. No, this is not AS enticing as books 1-8 -- and that's why only 4 stars, but it is a page-turner and it is a great depiction of this time.

I loved it--hope you will too--and am anxiously waiting for the next installment.

One last bit of advice...reread some of the earlier ones...I jumped right into this and wished I had taken the time to go back and be in-sync with Chloe, Buck and Capt Steele again! That is next on the agenda

Summary: 5 Stars do this book no justice.
Review: Remnant is one of the best books so far. Its content left nothing to be desired. It was better than number nine and number one, which were both a little revolutionary (The first one had a bit of a drab story, and Desecration was...well...you'll find out. All of the books are good, and I recommend them all to anyone.)

Summary: Why bother?
Review: I picked up this book because I'm a fan of post-apocolyptic fiction...the Postman, A Boy and His Dog, the Plastic Eaters... I was hoping for more of the same. Never a big fan of the left behind series anyway, the Remnant just bored me to tears. The theological backing this book is not hardly examined, nor are the characters fleshed out. ... Even if you do like the christian genre you will be disappointed.

Summary: A Real Page Turner
Review: After waiting expectantly for book #10 to be published, I must say I was not disappointed. It was a book that was hard to put down. The characters and plot were exciting and it really moved along. I have read all of the Left Behind Series and eagerly await the next one. If you were discouraged because of book # 9
be assured you will enjoy this one.
