Summary: James And The Jiant Peach
Review: A great book you should read is James and the Giant Peach. This is an adventurebook. My favorite charactor is the centipede.
This book is about a boy named James Henry Trotter. One sad day, his parents are eaten by a rhino that escaped from the zoo. He has to live with his two most hated aunts, Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker. The make him their slave. One day, he sees an old man. He gives James a bag of magic bugs. He trips and they go everywhere. They go into the ground and get into the roots of the dead peach tree.The tree grows a giant peach and James goes inside a hole in it. He meets a centipede, a grasshopper, a spider, a ladybug, a glow worm, a silk worm and a earth worm. They are as big as him. They roll down the hill and squish the nasty aunts. James and his new friends meet sharks and cloud men.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure books.

Summary: Loved it as a kid
Review: James Henry Trotter, the loneliest boy in the world, escapes from his sad life when he encounters a giant peach inhabited by magically transformed insects. Together, they set off on a journey across the Atlantic Ocean. I remember being enchanted by this story as a child. Upon rereading it recently, however, it struck me as a somewhat cold exercise in storytelling for children. The only character that really shows any personality is the nasty Centipede, and all of them seem to be rather class-conscious--even the saintly Ladybug, who looks down on ladybugs with two dots as being ill-mannered. This is, however, still a book that I would read to my own children. My changed opinion of it probably has more to do with the evolution of my tastes as a reader than it does with the merits of the book itself.

Summary: My Favorite book!
Review: This book was great and full of adventure. I loved every moment of it(in other words... I don't have a favorite part). I would actually sit down and read this book over and over again. Normally, I won't even finish an entire book, but this one is worth taking time to read the whole thing. I enjoy the vivid imagination that Roald Dahl used in writing this book. He is a very tanlented writer. I only wish that there would have been a sequal.

Review: James and the Giant Peach was Roald Dahl's first book he wrote for children and I must say that this book was superb. It was funny, had really great characters, and had a really enthralling story. The book is about a boy named James that meets an old man and James gets these green beady things that can change his life forever. While walking to the house to use the beads he trips and they get into the soil. he thinks all of his hopes are up but they're not. A peach grows from the peach tree that never ever grew a peach and it gets bigger and bigger until it reaches about the size of a car. Then James gets inside the peach where he meets insects that tell the story how they got the beads and thats how they got in the peach and the peach got big. But then the peach starts rolling downhill until it reaches the sea and falls in. They come out and see sharks eating the peach so they have segulls pull them and they fly all over the Atlantic Ocean until they reach New York. That's the most I'll tell you except READ THIS BOOK. It is so good. Adults and children will love this book. Read it!

Review: Whimisical, creative, silly, I would use these words to describe the fantastic story of James and the Giant Peach. James is a boy whose parents are killed by an unfortunate rhinoceros accident at the zoo. He is forced to live with his two aunts, Aunt Spiker and Aunt Sponge. They are mean to him and make him work alot. One day though he meets a magic fellow while he is working in the garden. The fellow gives him magic beans. James is supposed to eat them, but he drops them by the peach tree. In the evening James goes outside and is shocked by a huge peach on the tree. James finds a hole in the peach and he meets his new "friends". This book is interesting and very good. It is an excellent book for adults to read to kids, because both parties would get reading pleasure.

Review: When I read James and the Giant peach for the first time I loved it! it was adventurous and exciting! I loved how the writer made the creatures so interesting. Also she made the aunts look evil as was explainedin the book. I just wanted to reach in the book and yell at them! The book was kind-off mythical when james got to the cloud men. I could read that book over and over again and I would never get bored!

Summary: Generally good, but not without problems.
Review: JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH is easy to read, catches the reader's attention, and takes the reader to a fantasy land. It has everything necessary to be a children's classic.However, it is not without problems. In the book, James' two wicked aunts are killed as the peach flattens them and rolls over their lifeless bodies. Throughout the rest of the book the characters laugh and make up songs about their deaths. I know that in many fairy tales the wicked witch or stepmother dies, but I feel this book devalues life to the point that I would feel uncomfortable letting my young daughter read it. By the time she is old enough for me to feel comfortable with her reading the book, the book's plot will be too childish for her.

Review: reading this book again brought back lots of great memories from when I was younger and read this book. after recently watching the movie version of this book and being somewhat put off and unimpressed I thought I'd give this book another spin. The movie pretty much destroys this book as many movies do but i would have expected more from tim burton but alas. read this it's one of the top five by dahl.

Review: This book is about a kid name James who lived with his parents. After James` parents died , James had no choice than to go live with his aunts, Aunt Spiker and Aunt Sponge. His aunts treated James like a slave. They were so cruel to poor little James.James lived a miserable life until one day magic happend. there was this tiny peach growing big and wide and James one day found a hole to go inside the peach and so he did.James went in and met all these wierd creatures. There was a centepide, an old green grass hopper,a spider,a ladybug,an Earthworm and a silk worm. All of the creatures were so huge.
I think that this book James and the Giant Peach is a great book. I really enjoyed reading this book because its funny it makes you laugh and its really cool because you can go around the world and see the oceans.I recommend this book for three reasons,First, because its really interesting and really curious. Second, because you will enjoy reading about someones life. Third, because you will see how nice friends can help each other out.
