Rating: Summary: Worst in the series thus far Review: ~Good things about the book: some chapters serves to run the plot along. Intro was great.Bad things about the book: 1. Very slow: there are many fillers that you can't help but skipping over. For those that read the previous books, many descriptions of main characters and races are getting very repetitive. 2. Poor connection: Nothing in the prologue is resolved in the book. In fact, most things mentioned in the prologue is never again mentioned, which seems counter intuitive. Also~~ unlike the previous books where there's a feel that all the plots are part of a greater "Pattern". In this book, any party's actions doesn't seem to affect any other plot. 3. Uneventful: Nothing happens. And I'm not talking about earth shattering battles or events that appeared at the end of every other book. That's understandable. However, there was no event in the book that even triggered great emotion and that is a disappointment even for a "setup" book. (although some might find~~ one scene to be good, though I find it forced) 4. No conclusion: When the next book begins with "But it is a beginning" I will really have my doubts. Books, unlike TV shows are not supposed to end with cliff hangers. In the past, Jorden have concluded a plot and sometimes with the epilogue leaving teasers for the future. In this book, there is no ending. Every plot line is left as a cliff hanger. Mat end with nothing resolved. Perrin end with cliff hanger. Egwen end with cliff hanger.~~ Elayne nothing happens. Even Rand, whom did not appear in the book ends with a cliff hanger. Ofcourse all the teasers that were in the prologue and never mentioned again are left as cliff hangers as well. I would recommend not buying this book now but with the next book. Save money and much more reward.~
