Rating: Summary: Get on with it, already! Review: I started reading this series when I was 20 years old. I am now 34 and of course my tastes have changed. I would like to see how the story ends, but this is way past ridiculous. There is a very good chance that this series will not end until I am 40. Now it seems awfully unnecessary that I will have waited HALF OF MY LIFE to get resolution to a story that I thought was originally to be a trilogy. Jordan has developed a good cash cow system...keep introducing major new characters late in the series (Cadsuane, Moridin, etc.), and more frequent mentions of women's bosoms (helps to keep the hormonal teens buying and reading). Get on with it, already!
Rating: Summary: Thanks, but no adobe reader Review: I was trying to decide if I wanted to purchase this download. I've always had trouble with adobe reader, and now I know I won't be able to read the book. If other people are having trouble I'm not going to try. I LOVE the series, but I'll wait for a real book.
Rating: Summary: Can¿t support eDistribution Review: I'm torn. As a fan of the WHEEL OF TIME series, I long to say "what the hey", purchase and download this e-snipet. And I'm thankful Amazon now supports something other than the dreadful Win reader. But general principle wins out. For reasons others have already stated with ample vehemence, I can't support this method of distributing the PRINTED word, however paltry the sum or strong the impulse. I've waited this long; I can wait until January.
Rating: Summary: How many pages left? Review: If the prologue is really 140 pages and the book is only 672, that doesn't leave a lot of space left for actual plot movement.
Rating: Summary: Can't Print Review: If you can't print it, it isn't worth the download.
Rating: Summary: He's Baiting Us Review: In spite of all of the whining and complaining I've heard from most other Jordan fans, I eagerly devoured and thoroughly enjoyed this prologue to the tenth book. I felt the Arad Doman part showed an aspect - aka thorough, planned, counter-attack against the Seanchan on Almoth Plain - which was definitely needed. Ituralde (and also his wife Tamsin through indirect reference) sounds like an interesting character that I want to learn more of. Rand al'Thor is not the only willful, accomplished character by far. Also, I thought a lot of characters who I missed actually popped up - and this is just the prologue. I like hearing about Gawyn - he reminds me of the handsome, dashing (but occasionally thickheaded) knights of old. That whole thing w/ Logain and the Sisters he bonded is kinda interesting, too - Aes Sedai on the other end of the chain, practically on the leash of a man who can channel! Black Sisters in the Tower is always exciting as well...ooo the political intrigue. For those who are waiting for an all-out battle, I think it's definitely coming, but I don't think that's the major reason why I am a Wheel of Time fan. It is precisely for the so-called "whining" and nuances and extreme detail of the worlds/cultures that Jordan has created that I am immersed in the series. I could read any battle-hungry fantasy/sci-fi series out there if I wanted blood and gore. In Sun-Tzu's treatise the "Art of War", the highest you can hope for is disarming your opponent without bloodshed. Oftentimes, bloodshed is needed - I mean, we can't be naiive about it. Yet, at the sametime, smart/wise/cunning is the side who can force his/her will without losing countless soldiers. I think there's just enough of a hint in this prologue to make us want to attack the tenth book with our eyes right now. GOSHdarnit, Jordan! Finish that script!
Rating: Summary: It's good Review: Looks like Crossroads of Twilight will be one of the best in the WoT series, the prologue isn't bad at all, much better than snow. But since the whole book will be released soon I wouldn't suggest anybody to buy it.
Rating: Summary: get to the Last Battle already Review: None of the main characters in this. Not worth it. Jordan is just trying to get as much money from his fans as possible. Get to the last battle already, then move on.
Rating: Summary: MORE OF THE SAME Review: Nothing really different here. A glimpse into Arad Doman that has little bite, more Aes Sedai whining, etc, etc. The only positives are a pretty clear indication that the war at Tar Valon will happen in this book and Logain finally goes looking for Rand. Hope the rest of COT picks up in pace. If Jordan is really going to end the series in 12 books, he'd better start the engine!
