Once again Yu Watase has created a Masterpiece. THis has got to be favorite out of all the Fushigi Yugi novels because no one is fully disrobed! WOW! Also, Nuriko's ,um, *ahem*, yah, is not addressed all that much. Also, Tasuki and Mitsukake are a couple of my favorite characters. I love Tasuki's entrance...*sigh* Anyway, I recomend this book. There is one point where Miaka's in danger of losing something precious, and it is (as the others are) not suitable for young children.

Two Japanese school girls, who happen to be the best of friends, are pulled into ancient china in a book. Miaka Yuki is the Priestess of Suzaku, and very kind and loving. However, Miaka's best friend, Yui, becomes Miaka's rival, the Priestess of Seiryu. Yui becomes rather twisted and evil and is bent on taking revenge on Miaka by stealing away Tamahome. In the 4th volume, Bandit, Miaka needs to find the 3 remaining Celestial warriors of Suzaku so that Tamahome will return to her. But now she finds that this task is much more difficult than she thought. One warrior is a bandit, and, DEAD?!? Miaka travels to find a rumored doctor that can ressurect the dead. But on their way back from finding this doctor, Miaka catches a plague that slowly leaves it's victims to die slow and painfully. Will will Miaka do?

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I LOVE this book! Review: When I first heard of this series, I was skeptical, but the name turned up so much in recommendations that I finally bought the first book in the series. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered the rest of the books available as soon as I had finished the first one. It has a good plot and some parts of the book make me laugh out loud because they're so funny. I actually laughed really loudly on a bus when I was reading it because I couldn't help myself. I'd recommend this book to anyone who hasn't yet tried the series.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Best Romantic Manga I Have Ever Read Review: When I first picked up this manga i thought it was going to be trash (Mysterious Play?! oh yeah that sounds reallly interesting....). About 5 pages into it I was dazzled by Yu Watases's amazing mixture of story-telling and art. The story itself is great, about a young girl named Miaka who is transported into ancient China and announced to be the Preiestess of Suzaku. Along with the help of some *very cute* friends she is to find the Seven Stars of Suzaku. It also features the amazingly cute Tamohome and vry handsome emperor Hotohori. Action packed, romance filled and now a personal favorite of mine, its well worth the money and leaves you begging for more!

Completely enjoyed every moment of the manga, couldn't put the down till I've read all the way through it. I love Watase-san's drawing style!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: If you think the Anime's Great, Read the Manga! Review: Having seen the 52 episode anime, I wondered what more could be added to Fushigi Yuugi. The manga! This manga series is what the anime was based off of. I think that this was Yuu Watase's second manga series. It is great. I've only read this first volume so far, but I have to read the rest. Unfortunately, the whole of the manga series isn't available in english yet, but read what you can of it! I think they have six of them translated so far! This first volume gives you greater insight as to why Miaka is trying so hard to study and get into Jonan. Also, the way she and Yui are seperated is told better and makes more sense in the manga. It has tons of new funny stuff in here, so enjoy! A must for FY fans everywhere, as well as a good intro to FY for newbies.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: I love Fushigi Yugi Review: The art work of Watase Yu is fabulous. The stroy is facinating. It made me laugh in places. Of cousrse it's funny considering your main characters are a 15 year old clueless junior high girl who is a glutton, a cute miser, a narasasic emporer and . . . I won't give it away. It's like Inuyasha by Rumiko Takahashi, in that the girl is taken back in time. Howere unlike Inuyasha, the girl is sucked into a book and is the hero of the story. In Inuyasha the main character time travels through a well. In this story Miaka becomes part of the story. I liked the paradies and the Manga talks. This is a great story. Even thought in palces in the translation they call Miaka the princess even though she is the priestess (Suzaku no Miko). But besides that it was wonderful. I definatly recomend this one. The anime is good but the manga is way better. Its a good story and it has lots of cute guys.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Don't like putting America into it Review: i liked this manga. the story is a little different than the anime, which is cool. for instance miaka and yui get sucked into the novel, but come out together!!! miaka goes back into the book later without yui's knowledge. what i didn't like was putting american things into it. like "denny's" and "jesse the body ventura" i would rather have the original japanese things, and if we don't know what they're saying, putting a little editor's note at the bottom. it was set in japan afterall. but otherwise it was cool. if you liked the anime you should read the manga to see the differences in the stories.
