Summary: A truly thought provoking novel
Review: This fifth novel in the Starbridge series was one I had eagerly anticipated... and it disappointed me the first time I read it. Because I had rejoiced in the "IDIC" like atmosphere of the other books and the idea of bringing war and bloodshed into this universe distressed me. But, I read it again. And again. And I've come to respect and admire the idea that even the most peaceful of people may someday have to fight to preserve their peace and their way of life. I admired also the idea that nothing comes without price, and when one makes the hard choices, one has to live with the consequences of those choices. I recommend reading it with an open mind, and someone to discuss it over with afterwards:)
