Summary: One of the most active books I've ever read!
Review: For all those people who gave this book a 1 or a 2 I have to say your way wrong! I do admit it was kinda confusing in the beginning and I didn't find out that each chapter was a different time set until the last few chapters but overall this is a great and fascinating book. Good Job Ryan Hughes

Summary: Not my fault!
Review: Many readers of "Hard Crash" might have felt that the book seemed to start in the middle of things and jump around a lot on its way to an ending. If they get to PROPHET'S POWER, book #2 in the Unreal series, they will find the beginning of the story, rather than a continuation.

There's a very simple explanation for all this. The covers got swapped in publication. As for the jumping around within each book, well, Dean Wesley Smith and I each wrote a single book, but they were shuffled together chapter-by-chapter and divided in half again to make two volumes in the series. We knew that was going to happen, so we planned the chapters to compliment each other; we just didn't expect the covers to be swapped or the bylines to read "Ryan Hughes" on one and "Dean Wesley Smith" on the other rather than both names on both books.

One last little snafu: chapters 14 and 15 of HARD CRASH got switched with chapters 16 and 17. Read 16 and 17 first, then go back and read 14 and 15.

I know it sounds like a total disaster, and believe me, from the author's viewpoint it feels like it, but Dean and I do feel that we wrote a couple of decent books. If you want to read what WE wrote, in the way we wrote it, then get both books, start with PROPHET'S POWER and read just the "First Occupation" sections, then continue with the "First Occupation" sections in HARD CRASH. That will be Dean's book. Then go back to PROPHET'S POWER and read the "Second Occupation" sections, and finish off with those sections in HARD CRASH. That will be my book. (Don't forget the two chapters out of order.)

I know, I know, it shouldn't take a road map to read a book! Presumably when they reprint these they'll fix the problem, but for now, that's the way to get the best reading experience.

My thanks to everyone with the patience and/or interest to try it that way--I sincerely hope you enjoy the books.

Summary: Nice story but too much bad language!
Review: My brother (11) read it first and thought it was great but gave it three stars because of all the bad language (more swear words than storyline). I (also 11!) didn't finish it because of his warning. Anyone who wants to read this series I recommend reading Prophets Power first which has a better storyline and is much better written. Prophets Power isn't well related to the game in the way Hard Crash is. A great story!

Summary: Great Book
Review: The book goes in great with the atmosphere of the game. It gives the game player with some extra story to accompany the game. It might not be the best book I have read, but it is among the best out of books that were written for games.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I give it 50 stars
Review: the book was absoulutly wonderful! Action packed to the teeth! It helps if you played the 3d action game "Unreal", it will give you a better picture. The chapter mess up left me confused for a while. Im just now starting to read Prophets Power Unreal #2. Make more great books Ryan Hughes!!!

Summary: Unreal Hard Crash
Review: This book is about two prisoner on a spacecraft headed for death and being tortured...
I like this book because it has a lot of action and adventure into it. The book has a good story line so it is easy to read and to follow. The book is descriptive; it gives you a clearer image of the story. When I first read the book it was boring at first but became better quickly. I recommend this book to more mature boys/girls because it has a little foul language or maybe more then a little. The book has a lot of violence in it too. So over all it is a good book.
... I even like the cover too... My brother said I was a good book so I read it. Plus I picked this book because it has a lot of action.

Summary: A overall great sci-fi book!
Review: This book was amazing! It had an involved storyline, likeable characters, and tons of action ! Simply AMAZING !

Summary: Not a bad read, but not very Unreal.
Review: This book was an easy read but did not seem to have very much in common with the environment expressed in the game upon which it is based. The game seems to show the native Nali as being a very religious culture, and yet in the book this aspect is not even mentioned once. I never got the sense that this was an alien race on an alien world. For all intents and purposes, the Nali could have just been four-armed pacifistic humans on an alternate Earth.
