Rating: Summary: Help can't put it down Review: It's been a while since I picked up a BT novel, and now I have I can't put it back down. Set on Solaris you get to see the big conflict being played out in the universe on a much smaller scale... Davionist fighting Steiners, Free Worlders fighting Caps and disgruntled ex-clanners fighting anyone who stands in their crosshairs. An excellent read, and a great place to jump back into the BT universe.
Rating: Summary: Back to FedCom land Review: Loren Coleman's done some nice work with the Capellan Confederation (personally, I like her approach to Sun Tzu, and how Sun Tzu sees himself while the entire rest of the storyline sees him as a power mad dictator). Still, this one is critical for setting up the Steiner-Davion conflict. The writing is okay, and the press treatment is nice. The only other Solaris book I read was Main Event, and this one does a better job with cheapening human life. Still, the bit with Katherine (I'm not calling her Katrina) and her aunt makes me wish for the sane rulers, (Victor and Teddy). Really good setup for the next few novels, but, as typical with Battletech, Davion seems to triumph in the end.
Rating: Summary: oustanding Review: Loved it! More books, MechWarrior, or even short story books should take place on Solaris VII.
Rating: Summary: Nice view away from the wars Review: Once again Loren L. Coleman turns in a solid tale in the battletech universe. This story takes place on Solaris VII and follows the adventures of Michael Searcy, a disgraced mechwarrior from the Federated Suns. The politics of Solaris VII mirror those of the Inner Sphere before the clan invasion, with all the petty bickering and dirty tricks in place. A thouroughly enjoyable novel away from the Clan wars and the current Liao story line. Good job Loren! Looking forward to your next Battletech book!
Rating: Summary: Let the games begin Review: This is a gladiator arena like no other. On solris 7 the games are here. this is the first real solris 7 book and it rocks. But the mechs in this book go outa the arena and on the streets cause theres a war goin around in the gaming world between the fed comm supporters and the lyrans. the battles are great, no time to breath through the whole book. this is an awsome book with mech to mech action like no other. i recomend this book to all.
Rating: Summary: When Gladiators Come Calling Review: This was a very entertaining book. Though it makes no massive changes to the Battletech universe, sometimes it is better to see small scale combat over a larger one. And you can even construe this combat to the larger scale because Solaris IS the Inner Sphere in miniature. Great combat scenes, interesting characters, and good writing all combine to make this book a winner. A far better novel than Dagger Point. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is some technical errors and editing problems.
