Rating: Summary: Wonderful read Review: Being a great fan of the BattleTech Universe, I was hoping for a book that would grip my imagination enough to prevent me from putting it down. This book does just that. Coleman doesn't simply slap the storyline and facts down for you to plough through, he actually molds the plot and the characters throughout the book. This gives it a whole and rounded feeling. There was only one problem - it was over too quickly! I could have read another 500 pages, but they just weren't there. Bigger book next time, LC?
Rating: Summary: A Good Slugfest Review: Finally a break from the Capellan storyline! Good characters with lots of action including some of the best small scale battle scenes I have read in the Battletech series. Loren Coleman does an excellent job of bringing Solaris VII to life, (which was a very pleaseant surprise after being dissapointed in his last couple novels). The main plot and subplots tie togther nicely with all of the intrigue that makes the good Battletech novels stand out above the average ones.

Rating: Summary: Nadir Review: I love Battletech. I have all Battletech novels I could ever put my hands on, I have tons of Battletech material, as much as I could afford. I love the Battletech universe, it's factions, it's people, and all the little details that can be found. I loved it even more before the Clans, but that's another story. :-)The thing is... this books cheapens the Battletech universe. It is one of my greatest disappointments, by an author I least expected it from. Of note, the end of the main character _is_ worth of Battletech, and the book has marginal value as part of the universe's main plot's background.
Rating: Summary: My least favorite Review: I love the mechwarrior series of novels, but this one was awful. The story was ludicrous and if the main character was as good as he appears to be then he probably would never have ended up the situation he did. Let's leave the cappelans alone, and all the other filler novels, and get back to the Grey Death Legion, and Victor Davion, and the Word of Blake on Earth, and the Clans, and the Wolf's Dragoons, and Phelan Kell, and all the other fun and interesting aspects of the Mechwarrior series. To say the least, this last novel was a dissapointment!

Rating: Summary: Killer book. Review: I though noone could get me to see the planet of Solaris 7 from the arena fighters point of view, but Loren Coleman did just that. This is a killer book and one that is a must read.
Rating: Summary: When a stadium falls apart, the streets become the arena! Review: Imagine a planet where 'Mechanized combat is a mere game, where instead of fighting wars, warriors fight personal battles for personal glory. Welcome to Solaris VII. When Michael Searcy was on a steady rise to the top of Solaris VII as the Grand Champion, the stadium he fought in "failed", and the shielding equipment broker down. Brawls broke out outside, claiming it was eithe rhte dAvionists or the Lyran loyalists faults. 'Mechs went on to carrying out grudges in the middle of common-place streets. War has taken over Solaris. Michael is set to change that. Excellent writing by Loren Coleman, a pleasant change from the Capellan stories recently to the FedCom civil war. Buy this, its important for the BTech timeline coming up!

Rating: Summary: Return to Solaris 7 Review: It has been quiet awhile since anyone has written anything on Solaris 7 and a good break from Coleman's Capellan stories. For those of you who like The Game World this os the book to buy, the story contains many classic battle's and eventually turn's into a Steiner vs Davion battle outside the arena's and into the street where, the press treat and highlight as though it was an arena match. Overall this book is brilliant, and enjoyable and should be considered for your collection.
