Summary: Good Read With a Twist.
Review: Fast paced read with a twist of an ending....Really enjoyed the book with political implications that are reflected in today's headlines.
The story is engaging and I like an ending that is not predictable. Characters are complete with a tinge of reality that is refreshing. Would recommend this book to any sci-fi fan.

Review: I had such high hopes for this book, but between the poor editing, the scads of typos and simple grammatical errors, and the thin story, I had to say I was really let down. After reading it, I felt unsatisfied and wondered what exactly the author's point was. Was this supposed to be a postmodern Stepford Wives or a straightforward action-adventure book? I also wondered about portraying Yates as a vengeful gay man, whether there was some unconscious homophobia going on. While I probably agree with the author's politics for the most part, as a reader looking for a pleasant literary experience, I couldn't really get past its flaws. All in all, a disappointing read.

Summary: Prescient sci-fi
Review: I read IMMUNE about two years ago, and I enjoyed it. I thought it full of new ideas and new ways of looking at things and that is one of science fiction's most important functions I think. However, recent events suggest something else this book does. Sometimes, though not often, Science fiction warns about a seemingly far-fetched future evil that subsequently emerges as a real possibility. I am thinking in particular of the fate suffered by the Arabs in this book in face of the expansion of Israel Chryl Gray describes. Recent events in the Middle East and our very own "Presider's" strange animus toward Syria (last reiterated a few days ago) give me pause. Is a "Greater Israel" part of the overall plan for controlling that region and its oil.

Summary: I am a 2%er!
Review: I understand exactly what the author is saying. I have wondered about many of the same things. I felt her characters were real and their fears and actions were believable. There were two typos but they did not detract in any way. (I found some in the last King novel I read).
The ending was not what I expected, but perfect for the book.
I hope there is a sequel!

Review: I'm at a loss to understand what Our Morales is talking about. It is a complex story with many twists and the fact that the villian is gay is marvelous. Too often gays are portrayed as sissies -- maybe he should look within to understand where his feelings are coming from.

Summary: What A Read!
Review: Immune by Cheryl Gray is one heck of a good read. Set in the future, Immune offers us a glimpse into a pharmaceutically controlled society where only two percent of the population remember how the world used to be. The idea that human beings can be altered in such a way is both terrifying and alarming, and that is the point of the story. This book truly hit home with me. It is a wake up call for all of us to fight for and retain our individuality. The idea of a pill that will solve all problems is frighteningly real, and the author is sending us an important message here. I highly recommend Immune. The character depiction is vivid, the flow of the story is smooth, and the dialogue is real. The premise will intrigue you, and the ending will surprise you.

Summary: Chilling
Review: In browsing for a book, IMMUNE caught my eye. Calling the drug-induced phenomenon that infected the whole world an apathy syndrome was right on target. I especially like the antagonist being a middle-aged gay man, while he is no 'John Wayne' role model; he is strong, powerful and ruthless.

I applaud the way the so many things in the future are remembered with flawed memory --- just like today. And the mid east becoming part of Israel was not only chilling, but plausible. I really enjoyed this book!
