Summary: She knows her spider-man
Review: I have been a Spiderman comic collector for some time now. I normally don't read novels based on comic characters because they usually mess up. Not in this case. Duane really knows her spider-man and proves it with this book (first in a trilogy).

Summary: Spider Maan!!! Spider Maan!!!
Review: I liked it a lot because it has a lot of detail. It has many details about the way that the villians fought with our hero, Spider Man, in dangerous places. I liked some of the pictures thta they had is the book. They had many action in them. Each picture was about each chapter. This book is about when an alien being is rampaging the streets and sewers of Manhattan. People are saying that it's Venom. But Spider Man thinks it's something else. Now, he has to hunt it down as part of a goverment agent. With two problems in his hands, he still has to find Hobgoblin's lair and destroy his plan of destorying Manhattan. The villians that he has to face in all are Hobgoblin, Venom, and the alien.

Summary: A ho-hum Spider-Man book...
Review: I'm going back to read all the Marvel books (I have just recently completed my collection), and will post reviews on all of them for people who still care.
Fist up is Spider-Man: Venom Factor by Diane Duane. This is not a good book to start off on, but oh well. This book is bland and, worst of all, boring to boot. The action scenes are poorly done and not at all exciting, and the "character development" scenes between Peter and Mary-Jane consist of talking, eating, and having sex....not necessarily in that order. Yes, we know they are a married couple who are attracted to each other, but we don't need their ... ...high school-ish innuendos every time they speak to each other. There are better books for you to read then this one. AND this is just the first in a LOOSELY tied together trilogy that doesn't get much better from here...sigh.

Review: In the book Spiderman: the Venom Factor, Hobgoblin has stolen an atomic bomb and threatens to set it off in Manhattan if the city fails to pay $1,000,000,000. Spiderman also discovers that an alien lifeform is tearing people to shreads, which Venom notices. Can Spiderman defeat both of them and stop Hobgoblin before everything goes boom?

Review: Let me start off by saying that I'm the type of person who has to finish something once he has started it, so it is rare that I won't finish a book. But honestly after reading about a hundred some odd pages of this book I couldn't force myself to finish it. It was just that bad. I am a spidey fan and I read the book said on the cover that she was a new York times best seller, so I figured it couldn't be that bad. But what I confronted was possibly the worst, most pointless, boring book I have ever read in my life. Forget about the fact that Duane refers to Spiderman as "Spidey" throughout the book and Hobgoblin as "Hobbie" but the dialogue coming outof Spiderman's mouth was such an unnatural and pathetic attempt at wit. And the fight scenes were even more pointless. There were literaly lines that read like this: "Spidey hit Hobbie, sending him reeling backward. Hobbie came back up and punched Spidey in the face. Spidey didn't like it." Ontop of that, there was a horrible subplot involving Spiderman's wife Mary Jane auditioning as a model. Completely boring and not fitting in anywhere in the book. I wouldn't reccomend reading this book unless you are 9 years old or you are a hardcore Spidey-phile. And if you are both, hey, that's great. Maybe you could make some sense out of this piece of crap.

Summary: I'm gettin' the next Spider-Man novels right away!!
Review: Ohhhh, man, this is a GREAT Spider-Man book. I'd advise this book only to Marvel Spider-Man fans, or just general Marvel Comics fans; other will get lost in it's plot and the characters will be very unfamiliar.

But there's one thing that's for sure..., I'm getting the next 2 Spider-Man novels by Diane AS SOON AS I CAN! This book's plot is excellent, plenty of action to keep Spidey fans happy. Old, memorable, and --to some of us--, lovable characters-- even the villians, and crabs like J. Jonah Jameson. Pick up a copy of this book all you Marvel fans out there! I didn't really start out as a Marvel fan, but was well-versed in Spider-Man and all of the main characters and villians in his tales.

This book kicks, and I'm hoping the next 2 do too. Read it!

Summary: Great Book!
Review: Reading some Spider-Man comics lead me to read this book, and I wasn't disappointed! I was riveted through reading the entire thing! The dialouge between Peter (Spider-Man) and his wife always made me chuckle, and the action is intense. If you're looking for a great, action packed book with a classic comic book hero, look no further than Spiderman: The Venom Factor.

Summary: Spider-Man: The Venom Factor
Review: The book has a pretty decent story but the one thing that kills it is the lame dialogue. It is way out of character, however, being a Spidey fan for awhile, the story was entertaining.

Summary: This book is great!!!
Review: The venom factor starts out as a simple murder thought to have been commited by Venom (a symdiotic alien costum bonded to Eddie Brock) but takes an amazing twist when a villain known as Hobgoblin takes Manhatten hostage with an atomic bomb and spider-man finds out that the resent murders were not commited by venom or the Hobgoblin but something far worse. To find out what read the book.
