Rating: Summary: A Terrific Follow-up to the First Novel Review: Suzanne Frank has done it again. Her novel Shadows on the Aegean, the second in her series of tales about the time traveling couple of Chloe and Cheftu is a terrific follow-up to her first book, Reflections in the Nile. Once this book is picked up, the reader is immediately transported away into the long, ago world of ancient Aztlantu. It is sublimely, escapist fiction that allows the reader a glimpse into an ancient society, which presents the paradox of being both eminently civilized and savagely archaic. Ms. Frank deftly weaves actual historical information with historical supposition. The book provides a nice balance between the continuing love story between the two protagonists, the daily life and rituals of an ancient civilization, and a healthy dose of action and adventure. Although Shadows on the Aegean is in some aspects a continuation of Ms. Frank's first novel, it is still a book, which is able to stand alone based on its own merit. If you have not already read Reflections in the Nile, I would certainly suggest that you read it too, but go ahead and read this novel first, because it is that good!
Rating: Summary: Another winner for Suzanne Frank Review: The love story of Chloe and Cheftu, in any era, would make for wonderful reading. Ms. Frank though, paints a wonderful backdrop which is both stark and amazing. Once you pick up her books, they never leave your side. Brava, Ms. Frank, Brava!
Rating: Summary: wonderful novel, when do we get another? Review: This is a wonder love story betwen Chloe and Cheftu. I couldn't wait to find out what they had gotten int and how they would get out of it. I coundn't put it down, I read the whole thing in one night! Ms. Frank make history come alive and you don't even realize you are learning. I can't wait for another adventure with Chloe and Cheftu.

Rating: Summary: Incredible journey! Review: This is the kind of book that takes you completely to another world! Through the characters Chloe and Cheftu, you live exciting adventures. It has a well thought plot, I can't wait for the next one. By the way... beautiful ending!
Rating: Summary: Only 5 stars available? Needs more Review: Thought I could put this down. Should have learned my lesson with Suzanne Frank's first novel. Dinner burned again. I was captivated by her descriptions and story. The characters of Chloe and Cheftu become so real, I almost expect to meet them for a cup of tea--and I miss them in between books. You will find yourself learning much about history within these pages. Ms. Frank must have spent large portions of her days in a library--but she's a gifted story-teller who never makes it sound like a history lesson. Suzanne is a lovely person, as charming as her main character, and a gentle, disarming soul. She's made of the stuff that will sustain her through many novels--so much more the blessing for us. Rating: Summary: Very disappointing! Review: Very confusing, a difficult read. Not at all up to the level of Reflections in the Nile. I found the characters confusing, and pretty far out. I probably will read the next one just to see what happens to Chloe and Cheftu, but if it isn't better than this one I'm all finished!!
Rating: Summary: Aiiiiieee! When's the sequal coming out?! Review: Wow, I just finished the book and all I can say is wow. This book was totally cooler than the first. (I did not even know it was possible.) After they had just reaquainted, I was just dying to find out what was going to happen next. The last/middle section where Chloe and Cheftu were hardly mentioned kind of bored me. I practically screamed with anticipation while reading the last page and the epilogue. I nearly died when I found the ending was more so twisted than the first. I relaxed when I read the inside cover which states "She is currently working on the third book in her time-travel trilogy, Sunrise on the Mediterranean." Now I must wait in anguish to quench my anticipation.
