Rating: Summary: Not the greatest work of art but, it will manage Review: I liked a lot of the stories in Relics and Omens, but what made me give it a four was that Zombie story near the end. However, the story about Caramon doing magic was very funny! I just wanted to say that this book is very descriptive about the new world of Krynn.
Rating: Summary: Praise Review: I thought this book was superbly written. Unlike some of the other reviewers I liked all the stories in this book. My favorites were The Notorious Booke of Starres and Peculiar Artifact. The Booke of Starres was just superbly written, and the peculiar artifact is one of the few stories that shows a kender as something other than a fool or comic relief.
Rating: Summary: It is a dark time in the world of Krynn. Review: It is a dark time in the world of Krynn. The gods of old have left the world, taking with them the magic of the land. In the devastation after the Chaos War, the people of Ansalon struggle to define their places in a strange new world. The stories of Relics and Omens take place in that limbo-time between the Chaos War and the coming of the great dragons. Some of the greatest writers of the Dragonlance saga come together to bring this age to life, from Richard Knaak's portrayal of a man possessed with lust for power by a strange and magical sword, to Margaret Weis and Don Perrin's story of a former Hero of the Lance and his struggle to help a veteran of the Chaos War. I had the good fortune to contribute to this book. "The Restoration" is a tale about two scholars in the Library of Tarsis who discover a dark relic from an age long past, but one created with the current, magic-poor future in mind. "The Restoration" is my first true work of fiction to b! e published.
Rating: Summary: A well-rounded anthology Review: R&O is a fine read for fans of the Dragonlance world. There are good stories and bad. Roger Moore rules as always with one of his gnome stories. Weis/Hickman disappoints me a little with a cliché-ridden story about Caramon helping a handicapped war-veteran. Jeff Grubb - who usually writes excellent stuff - disappoints a little as well with a thin story about a con man and an out-of-place demon. This said, R&O contains a lot of OK stories describing various lots in life in the fifth age. Moore for Emperor!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Book Review: This book was the first book from the DragonLance series and I was captivated by the stories within the book. The different stories offers something for everyone because if you do not like one story you can go to another I however, would not recommend this because they are all great stories. This book got me hooked on the series and soon after finishing it I bought 12 other volumes of DragonLance books.
Rating: Summary: great book Review: this was an excellent boo
Rating: Summary: Most of the stories really good, some were bad Review: Though I haven't read the entire book, I have read most of the stories in it. The reason that I didn't finish it is because some of the stories, like "A Most Peculiar Artifact" were either stupid or boring. Most of them, like "The Sword of Tears" and "Island of the Night", were really good.
