Review: What I really like about this book is not so much the planet Ventus itself, although this is interesting, but the glimpses we get of the universe beyond it. The people are not gods, but as in Vinge's zones, they can create gods to order. Schroeder takes the concepts of AI and nanotechnology to a new level, with good characters and story to boot.
