Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A MUST READ ADVENTURE STORY
Review: This book is written for young adults, but it is for anyone who can read! Absolutely delightful story. A combination of "War of the Worlds" and "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". After you read this, you'll definitely want to get the trilogy. This is one great book!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent book, very good prequel to TTT.
Review: This book was complete in every way, and very well written. The best source of information for figuring out what happened before the Tripods took over Earth. I wish there were more websites with cover images on them. Anyway, read this book!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Dark and suspenseful, but interesting and exciting
Review: This book was not amazingly well-written, nor was it by any means light and happy, as I like a book to be, more or less. However, it brought out some very good ideas and theories about extraterestrial Earth domination. It actually was a satisfying book, to me, because of its prequel status, and the fact that it just told more about the series, which I have read. I would have probably rated it three-stars if it was a book by itself, due to a sad ending.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Compelling 'Prequel'
Review: This is a wonderful compainion to the best-selling series The White Mountains. Very well written, with a hidden moral about what too much television can do to your mind.

Two kids start off in a very modern world, just like the one we live in now. One of the kids younger sister loves a television show called The Trippies. Her brother finds the show very odd, yet nonetheless mesmerizing. After she watches it day after day, and tries to run away, he assumes that there must be a connection between his sister and the t.v show causing all the people who watch the show to go out and worship the 'Tripods'. But what can he do about it?

Like I said before, well written with a compelling and thought-provoking end. One caution: This book does clear up a lot of unanswered question about the rest of the series, but read through the series first. You become a lot more attached to the characters while they try to figure out the mystery of how the Tripods rule the earth and how to defeat them. If you read this book first, you will have a hard time connecting to the rest of the books. The mystery leaves.

Happy readings!

Summary: Well written book for Kids or Adults
Review: This is really a great book. This being said I am not sure that I would have enjoyed this novel quite as much as if I had not read the Tripod trilogy first. For those of you who are not aware, the Tripod trilogy is series of books that take place in the somewhat distant future of the events that take place in this novel.

This novel covers the arrival of the aliens (Tripods) onto Earth and their rapid conquest of Earth by means of an ingenious method of mind control. A terrifying novel even if it is written for a juvenile audience.

The real point to this book is not so much to tell an independent story but to give us a prequel history to the events in the Tripod Trilogy. As a prequel this book is very good. This book is not nearly as action packed or triumphant as the Tripod series but as a companion it is great. I recommend reading after the Tripod series.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Eye Popping- A spellbinding must read!!!!!!!
Review: When I looked at the book, I said "hmm. 150 pages, paper back, this is an easy going non-exciting book" RIGHT. This is a book about an alien invasion...... with a twist that makes it much worse. Even though this is only 150 pages, it has the suspense of 50
