Summary: Kingmaker's Sword
Review: I hope you will excuse me for my English, I don't speak it very well (nor write it!). My suggestion is: don't buy this book!It is not worth the expense. I think this is almost the worst fantasy book I've ever read (and the following ones are just the same). It is boring, the characters are really poorly developed, but above all, if you go through the whole series, you'll realize they are ALWAYS THE SAME! The men are always big and strong, the women brave and with a saucy tongue... I cannot distinguish them one from the other. So if you like soft readings and replicants, this is the item for you!

Summary: A GREAT BOOK AND A GREAT SERIES!!
Review: I loved all the books written by Ann Marston. Actually, I loved the Rune Blade trilogy more than the sword in exile trilogy. Call me crazy if you like. The stories in this series are more complex and are more focused onto the main characters, whereas the sword in exile trilogy was more brief and a bit boring. Anyway, these are great books but I have to say something: Ann Marston, like a lot of serial writers tends to repeat most of her stuff like saying that the Tyadda people "were a strange, fey race that once inhabited the island" (something like that anywayz) and that "It was a gentle conquest <blah blah blah>" and that they married them instead... and all other stuff that once you read all six books, you'll see. Anyway, this book is about kian, the beginning of the line of princes and kings who would eventually lead to the ones to save Celi. Kian and Kerridwen are the main characers but the story is told from kian's point of view. i personally like this book and Broken Blade (in the same trilogy; the last book) the most because The Western King was just a bit too confusing. Anyway, I hope you enjoy these books because i certainly did.

Summary: Kingmaker's Sword
Review: I really enjoyed this book. However, it wasn't as well written as it could have been. Where some fanstasy writers overrun their stories with obscure details of unrelated history, there is a lack of background and depth in this story. I still really enjoyed the concept and characters, it just could have been so much more. I have also enjoyed Elizabeth Haydon's books as well as R.A Salvatore's Dark Elf Series. Check those out as well.

Summary: A thrilling story in a million more ways than one!
Review: I stumbled on this book by chance at my library a few weeksago. I read the back, and decided it looked pretty good, so I checkedit out. I was not expecting this! It was fantastic! I laughed and cried and sat on the edge of my seat, dying to know what would happen and not wanting it to be over! I am currently in the middle of The Western King, which is just as fantastic. If you want a real classic of fantasy or just a darned good book to read, get your hands on a copy of Kingmaker's Sword!

Summary: This book grabbed my attention and never let go!
Review: I was completely engrossed throughout the whole thing. The characters are real and the plot is unlike any I've read before. The style of all Ann Marston's books is unique. The world created is so well detailed and wonderfully decribed that you'll feel as if you actually there. A magnificient tale of adventure, exitement ,and romance, mixed with dashes of humor, this book will transport you to a world where magic is commonplace, people diverse and interesting, and you never know what's waiting at the next turn. You'll begin it wondering what will happen next, you'll end it breathless and impatient for more.

Summary: All Time Favorite
Review: I was surprised where I found out that this book wasn't averagely rated with all 5 stars! A few years ago, my step-brother introduced me to this book, and I loved it. A story of love and swords and magic is all I could ask for in a book. I also cried when a main character (I won't say who, in case you've not read it yet) died. Since then I have read it 2x more, and am now lending it out to my friends. I have read the entire first trilogy, and am smack dab in the middle of the second trilogy. By the way-if you like these, also read "Hero and the Crown" and "Deerskin" by Robin McKinley!

Summary: One of the best fantasy novels I've read in a long while !
Review: I've always been interested with anything that has to do with the Celts, and now here's an author who's combined some of the more fascinating elements of that culture with my favorite book genre, fantasy. Adventure, romance, intrigue -- it's got it all in healthy doses. I can't wait to get my hands on the other books in the trilogy ! Definitely a collectible !

Summary: Very good!
Review: I've enjoyed this book, and the following ones, very much. Ann Marston mixes fantasy in with Scotland to create a fascinating world--it's rich with magic and interesting characters. Everything centers around a young boy who is a slave and builds on that. It's definitely worth a read--her style is very enjoyable.

Review: Kingmaker's Sword is an absolutely incredible book! Once started, it grabs you, and doesn't let you go!

Summary: Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!
Review: Ms. Marston's style is refreshing and yet familiar with Celtic/Gaelic/Scottish references. I fell in love with Kian and Kerridwen right from the start and purchased the other two books after reading only three chapters and read all three in four days! I have just gotten Cloudbearer's Shadow and am plowing my way through it too. I can't wait for the next installment. I really like how she takes each new book and focuses it on the next generation. We'll need a new family tree (hint hint) to keep up. I also LOVE the artwork on the covers and if truth be told, that is why I picked up the first book. So far, I've turned on three others to this series. Keep writing Ms. Marston, you have FANS!!! Thanks so much for the wonderful tales.
