Rating: Summary: emotionally draining! Review: . This book will make you laugh, sigh, and cry. Angela is a little too perfect though. No wonder she's got more than one boy liking her! : ) This will pull on your heartstrings...
Rating: Summary: A heartwarming story of love and family. Review: Angela Peterson was just fourteen years old and her older brother Thomas sixteen when their parents died, leaving the two teenagers to care for their three younger siblings and keep the family farm running. Now three years have passed. Angela and Thomas have been able to provide the children's material needs, but Angela is still worried. She feels that she will not be able to raise them to be good people as well as her mother would have. And now that she is seventeen, she is thinking about her future, but how can she have a life of her own when she must care for her siblings? Angela becomes even more confused when her new neighbor, Carter Stratton, a wealthy young man from the city, begins to court her. She isn't sure if she loves Carter, and longs for her mother's guidance.
I enjoyed this sweet, heartwarming family story, set on the prairies in what appears to be the late 1800s. Angela was a bit perfect at times, but she was still a likable character, and her love for her siblings and her determination to raise them the way her mother would have was very sweet. I would recommend this book to teenage girls who enjoy stories of love and family set against a historical background. I look forward to trying more books from this author.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining and a good read! Review: Another great book from Jeanette Oke, be sure to check out the rest of her novels.
Rating: Summary: Great View Of How God Works In Lives Review: I had not read any of her books for a few weeks and i thought that this one looked good so i thought i would read it. And let me tell you that i am very glad i did. i love how ms. oke focuses in on one familys difficulties and shows how God works in their lives for the better and everything is possible with God. I reccomend this book very highly,as also any of Janette Okes books.
Rating: Summary: This book was one of the best by Janette Oke. Review: I have enjoyed every book that I have read by J.Oke. This one in particular has touched my life. I recommend her books to any one how enjoys romance novels and who loves the Lord.
Rating: Summary: Good Reading Review: I have never been so interested in a book before. I have never been very big on reading. Jannette Oke writes in such a way that I felt I was right there living or at least over seeing the events. Although I never wanted to put the book down, there were times when I had too. I had no problem with stopping & starting and knowing the previous events that I had read prior. Not something I can say of other books I have tried. I would recommend this to everyone!! I can't wait to explore the many other books she has written!!
Rating: Summary: The author is inspiring and the book is awesome Review: I have read all her books and have enjoyed all of them. Janette has a way of connecting with her readers and getting her readers involved in the story. Once you start reading, it is hard to put it down until you finish the book
Rating: Summary: One of her best! Review: I have to say that this is one of my favorite Janette Oke books. If you're debating which of hers to try, I'd definately recommend this one! Definately a prairie setting like many of her books, but this one really touches the heart of life from that era, I think. Thought provoking and touching, with characters and attitudes you'll carry with you even after you're done reading it.
Rating: Summary: The Tender years Review: I just started readin gh it and it seems great it was so hard in the prologue to keep track of all the people my friend says its great. Even though I'm young I enjoy those kinds of books. H ave you read any other of her other books? if so do you have any recommendations?
Rating: Summary: It was GGGGGGGGGGGGreat... Review: I really enjoyed reading this novel. It was very interesting and enjoyable. I read it then passed ito n to my grandma and one of my friends. I like how she lets you get to know the charecters one by one so that they are not all sprung up on you at once. It helps so you don't get the charecters confused which leads to confusing the whole story!! I really enjoy these books and continue to look for them in stores.
