Summary: Hogan's 'Inherit the Stars'.....REAL science fiction
Review: Ever since I read this incredible book, no other sci-fi novel ever came close to satisfying me. I cannot praise this book enough. All other so called sci fi books seem devoid of content and meaning compared to this one. I'm glad amazon has the other two books of the trilogy, because I've spent the last five years looking for them

Summary: EVERY SO OFTEN.....
Review: Every so often I will come across a book or series of books that totally captivate me.I'm talking about late night readings, early morning readings and extended lunch break readings. The Giants Novels are just this type of series ,they inspire deep and provocative thought and keep you thinking long after the read. The last series that captured me so was the Gap Series by Steven Donaldson.I highly urge any seeker of that "special story" to give this one a read.

Summary: Excellent, far better than I could have ever imagined
Review: Excellent, well written. Nicely tied together. Captivating, leaving everything for the imagination leading to a suprising climax.

Summary: A wonderful journey in space and time
Review: For the readers of real science fiction (also unnecessarily called "hard sci-fi") this trilogy has everything to satisfy the skeptical, inquisitive and bored adventure seeker. Book One is the most scientifically oriented though the ending is its least interesting part; Book Two, where the main alien encounter takes place is a wonderful read, though at times slow. Book Three is the most fast-paced and least scientific. This trilogy, and a couple of other Hogan and Crichton novels rescued me from the dearth of real sci-fi since the early 90's. Hope they do the same for all.

Summary: Is this SF?
Review: For what it is worth: I am highly dubious if this is SF. It may be enjoyable to science buffs who are into Space Age stuff like Sputniks and Apollo, but otherwise it lacks anything which makes a book SF, most notably a readable story.

Warning: do not try to read this unless you have a lot of time and really nothing else to do: after some pages of this book sweeping the floor the will look like high entertainment.

Summary: This is without question the best SF Series ever written.
Review: I could not put down this series

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Very good, but deliberately paced
Review: I first read this series as a book club selection back in 1982. I was on assignment out of town, and this three book set was my ONLY entertainment. I was very lucky. These are intelligent, well thought out stories. Those seeking an "action story" will be disappointed. There is a little action, but it comes near the end of the third novel. These works are food for the brain, not the adrenalin.

P.S. where is the fourth novel James?

Summary: Excellant trilogy which sets your imagination free!
Review: I have read this trilogy many times and it is an excellant way to let your imagination run free. It makes you think about the origins of man and gives you hope for the possibilites in our future. I found myself wanting to meet the "Giants" so I could learn. These are wonderful stories which I am sure many will enjoy. You may find yourself revisiting the Giants many times as I have. If you want a really enjoyable reading experience, I recommend this trilogy wholeheartedly.

Summary: INHERIT THE STARS is an excellent, believable work.
Review: I read INHERIT THE STARS some years ago - having picked it up at a used book store. I was fascinated by the story and the way the writer weaves believable details throughout. I re-read this book periodically and loan it out to others. I had not researched any other works by Hagan - now have ordered the trilogy.
