Summary: i really liked this book
Review: I enjoyed this book a great deal. It is not the kind of book taht requires a great deal of serious thought, if you are looking for that, go for Patricia McKillip. This book is an enjoyable read and shows how events mold people into completely differnt personalities, espeacily when read in conjunction with the other two books in this series.

Summary: great
Review: I hadn't read many of Misty's valdemar seriesbefore this. I had read her Mage Storms trilogy before, but this book was far superior. I loved how Darien seemed normal, not wanting to sit and learn dull lessons, so he keeps running to hide in the woods. Then one day he sees something new...

Summary: Disappointing...
Review: I have read all of her Valdemar books and this is the most disappointing of the lot. It seems to have come of the oven half-baked. The most entertaing part of the book were the bondbirds Hweel, Huur and Kuari.

One can only hope that her next Valdemar book will have more 'body'. Hopefully it would include The other People and races. eg tervadi, ratha, tyrill, Karse, Iftel, the Eastern Empire etc.

Summary: Is that all???
Review: I have read all of Lackey's work, and Misty's work seems to be getting simpler. The plot of Owlflight proves to be predictable from start to finish. This reader was left looking for more to squeeze out of the plot, unsatisfied with the simplistic telling of the story. It wasn't just the plot's fault... somehow, Lackey's and Dixon's language has changed. There's a different feel and tone to the novel as compared to Lackey's earlier Velgarth series' of the Last Herald-Mage, or of The Heralds of Valdemar trilogy

Summary: Great for Beginners!
Review: I haven't read any other Lackey books, so when I accidentally bought this book at a supermarket, I immediately wanted to return it. I hate getting invovled in series in the middle! But, surprisingly, this book stood alone well. Now I WANT to read more by this author, when before I was resisting strongly. The read is easy, yes, but its not a totally "on the surface" book. I loved it and I think others who are not biased by the author's previous works would love it as well.

Summary: Read ME PLEASE!
Review: I haven't read Mercedes Lackey for a few years, but this one looked interesting. OWLFLIGHT is an adequate story, but is still too heavy on the exposition, drumming in the same outlook time and again. I wonder if she (they, she and Larry Dixon, co author) doesn't have another story to tell other than the misunderstood-kid-finding-his-magical-niche.

Summary: Not just for the younger crowd
Review: I just finished reading the other customer reviews of this entertaining tale. It sounds like most of them haven't read enough of this type of book and don't hang out with teenagers enough. It was a very satisfactory read and I did finish it in a little more than one sitting. Again I don't understand what people expect from fantasy. It shouldn't try to solve all the problems of the world, it should just be a good way to spend time. I enjoy most of the Lackey/Dixon books and am looking forward to more of the Valdemar history. I must admit I do love those grphons.

Summary: Interesting personal story that evolves into a new life
Review: I like this book. The story of what happens to Darian makes you feel for him and travel on his path to maturity together with him. You can easily relate to his feelings. When his previous life is cruelly and suddenly destroyed,he goes with the Hawkbrothers and bravely helps them to help his village. Then he chooses to stay with them and learn to use his potential. Interesting and exciting, this book kept me up until I finished it,and I reread it many times since.Good reading!Enjoy!
