Summary: Its only saving grace was that it was a very easy read.
Review: This was a stupid book. It's only saving grace was that it was a very easy read. This trilogy started off with a good premise (aliens on a planet with a 2006 year orbit "harvest" large areas of the earth), but just got worse and worse. I don't think the folks hired to write this book (nominally, the "authors") cared about it much either.

Summary: Excellent sequel to The Tenth Planet
Review: What can I say, Smith has produced another great book. The Tenth Planet: Oblivion continues the story of Earth's struggle for survival against the aliens from the Tenth Planet.

The first battle has been lost, but Earth has finally gotten its act together and is ready to retaliate. Every nuclear bomb and rocket has been launched to intercept the alien menace as it rounds our sun on its way back toward Earth.

Great book and very easy reading. I read books one and two in a day. I'm starting book three right now!
