Rating: Summary: One of the ten best SF books ever Review: Although Gerrold spends time warning the reader that the book is not meant to be didactic, it could be one of the best business books ever written. The premise of the book is pretty mundane and the cover is embarrassing, but the series is one of my favorites.
Rating: Summary: Hey David G. When are you going to get the next one out Review: Greetings,This is one of the best series of SF books I have read. I just wish Mr. Gerrold (please please please) would find the time and energy to write the next book. After all I think I know the human race will survive. Maybe. For the person who has not read this series I recomend it, as it has the spice of a good R.A.H. book. Or as my grandfather would say about the book I was read as a child."This book has everything. Fighting fencing, giants, true love, monsters and revenge." Just don't take the training to seriously and look for the good quotes. Rich
Rating: Summary: Perhaps the weakest of the series... Review: It may be the weakest of the series but it's the weakest of a great bunch! If you read A Matter for Men and then this book within a short space of time you may be a little disheartened about the prospects for the series but let me reassure you, stick with it, it gets better!
Rating: Summary: Hopeful for the rest... Review: It was a great book, but he never finished the series, if anyone get find him and tell him, i know a few hundred people or so that would buy the next ones for sure
Rating: Summary: Hurry up Review: Some of us will die before this dude gets around to writing another book. The story is pretty good but who wants to wait 5 years for the next installment?
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Science Fiction Review: Th ewar against the chtorr is a post apocaliptic setting that immediately grabs your attention. The Main character is very real, and not at all the classic hero type. David Gerrold does a wonderful job of making us feel the world from the eyes of this character. A great serious science fiction piece for people who like works like the Postman.
Rating: Summary: Gerrold Betrays Readers Review: The first 4 books of this series are one of the greatest achievements in Sci-Fi literature. That also makes it one of the greatest betrayals ever perpetrated by an author upon his readers. I don't know what the deal is, greed, illness, a lobotomy, but books 5 (A Method for Madness) & 6 (A Time for Treason) don't look like they will ever see daylight. I found the author's site where there is mention of a movie based on the series but I don't think it's going anywhere and he wouldn't reply to email. There is a special place in **** reserved for authors of unfinished series, David Gerrold claimed his with this one. I recommend against reading this, it's too painful to stop so abruptly. An incredible tragedy.

Rating: Summary: So far a riveting read,(40 pages till the end) Review: The first book in this series grabbed me, and ihave ripped through the second at the speed of a bunnydog dance. There are 2 more I know i can get my eyes on. And then.... Please help , I'm Ripe To Read (THE WAR AGAINST THE CHTORR ,BOOK 5,6 & 7) "There is no such thing as overkill." -SOLOMON SHORT
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Science Fiction Review: The War against the Chtorr series of books was first published in the mid eighties. At a later point, the incomplete series was rereleased with a few changes. I first read the first three novels in a single hardback collection that I borrowed from a friend's house, and loved it. At the time, I was unaware that David Gerrold had also written "the Trouble with Tribbles." This set has been with me through multiple moves, and is the last book I will read this millenium. This series has not become dated--in fact, many of the thoughts remain refreshingly new. David has created a very complete world that is easy to enjoy. The characterizations are complex, the plot engaging, and along with the intense descriptions combine to present a seamless experience. However, the series remains unfinished, so ultimately, you must resolve the fate of the world yourself.
