Summary: Pretty good Roswell novel, based on great story idea.
Review: I really like it when authors who write novelizations related to TV shows decide to base their story on possible consequences of actions taken by the characters in the show. This book does that, playing on the idea of unintended effects resulting from Max's decision to heal the children in the hospital in the episode "Roswell Christmas Carol". Now, a Father wants his daughter healed, too, and kidnaps Michael because he thinks the young man holds the answer. At the same time, criminals are using Max's unexplained good dead to make money off of unsuspecting victims by selling them a cure that they say was used on the kids Max healed. The group goes looking for Michael when he turns up missing, while at the same time dogding a reporter who suspects Max had something to do with the so called "Christmas Miracle". All in all, the story was a good one, but did kind of drag at times. Also, the author really spent too much time exploring the thoughts of the reporter and the criminals hiding out and selling their elixer over the internet. Ultimately, the Roswell fan reading this book probably doesn't care what the one criminal thinks about the other criminal he's working with, or how he doesn't like the way he is talked to sometimes by his partner. It was still a well constructed story with a great premise working behind it.

Summary: Very Good!
Review: I really liked No Good Deed. It kept my interest throughout the whole book! I thought the writing was good and the plot was even better. The one thing that bothered me was that they kept mentioning Michael's parents. Michael, as many Roswell fans know, was an orphan and never had parents. Maybe in the book Michael did have parents though. I'm not sure. Other than that the book was wonderful! I would definately recommend it to anyone who is thinking of reading it!

Summary: This book is GREAT!!!!
Review: If you are a fan of Roswell then this is a book to read. I've read the 1st book "Loose Ends" by Greg Cox and didn't like it that much because it didn't follow true to character. You could tell that the author never watched Roswell. But this book "No Good Deed" was awesome. It followed along with the show. I couldn't put it down. =)The authors Smith and Rusch knew what they were talking about and inculded everybody from the show, and I hope they continue to write more for this series.

Summary: sweet story
Review: oh this book is just too good for any true roswell fans. this
one picks up the story of the christmas miracle and takes an
angle the tv series could have but never did. on christmas eve
when max and michael drove to phoenix to save sydney, it became
national news. so when a couple of con artist decide to take credit for it and offer up a phoney serum to desperate parents
for $15,000 one desperate father jumps at it. little does everyone know, but he was in the ward that night and saw michael
standing lookout outside the ward. so he decides to kidnap michael in hopes of finding a cure for his daughter. meanwhile
back in roswell, a snoopy reporter has also been on this story.
she saw security video tapes of the night and saw max and michael
in the hospital ward. when she spots max at the crashdown she
knows that she has a hot story and is desperate to do anything
for the scoop. this is must read for all roswell fans. i applaud
the authors of the first 2 new books that they are picking up
strands from the tv show and giving them so interesting twists.
i hope they keep up the good work and i cant wait for the next one to arrive.

Summary: Carrying on with a really good idea
Review: On Christmas Eve Max and Michael snuck into a childrens ward in Arizona to heal the children there for Christmas. It was an act that will come back to haunt them. A desperate father remembers Michael from that night, and he has plans for him. Chad Newcomb's little daughter missed out on the "Christmas Miracle", and he plans on making sure that Katie will be saved by one of the angels. As the rest of the gang try and save him, they find themselves dealing with an annoying reporter who keeps getting in the way. A medical scam keeps everyone guessing.

Based on the television series, this novel follows "Loose Ends". I really enjoyed this novel, finding it well written, and the switching viewpoints made the book more interesting. Unlike "Loose Ends" this novel shows a more faithful following of the characters that were developed for television from the books written by Metz. It is nice to see too that Michael has become something of a main character rather than having yet another book from the perspective of Max and Liz.

This book gets a huge thumbs up both for the quality of the writing, and a great storyline.

Summary: Much Better Than Loose Ends
Review: The first thing that drew me to "No Good Deed" was the fact that my two favourite characters, Michael and Maria, were on the cover. After "Loose Ends," which was so completely off on characterization, I wasn't sure about this one, but I bought it anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised. It remained true to the timeline it was set in, there weren't nearly as many plot holes as the show contains, both Michael and Maria (and the other main characters) were captured far more accurately, and it held my attention. It was nice to see characters like Maria who are underused on the show actually get some real focus in the book, and I'm glad that even more minor characters like Brody, Sean, the now gone Tess, and the Valentis actually make an appearance instead of being ignored to make things simpler. Props to the authors, as this is a book I would rather have associated with the show. I liked the little spin they put on the Christmas episode, since it is completely unbelievable that actions like that wouldn't come back to haunt them, and it was pretty obvious to me that the authors had actually taken the time to view the episodes necessary.

Overall, I was much more satisfied with this book and can't wait until book three comes out, in hopes that it'll carry this trend.

Summary: Worse than "Loose Ends"
Review: This book was really bad. Way too.. er... down to Earth to be a Roswell book. Yes there are scams out there like the one in the book but come on! What are the chances that the gang would get caught up in one and use such menial and mundane methods of solving. This would work for a show like Dawson's Creek or something that isn't science fiction. Where was the excitement! At least "Loose Ends" was at least RELATED to the television show and it was INTERESTING unlike this book. All the other Roswell books have extraterrestrial action. This book was BORING!
