Summary: It would make an interesting supplement to the 3050 Readout
Review: Much thinner than its 3050 brother, the 3055 Technical Readout gives a good look at The Inner Sphere's response to new clan technology. Some of the sections were confusing, like the Inner sphere refits, which are actually Clan refits of mechs still in use by the inner sphere. While most of the `mechs are average in overall quality, there are a few exceptional models that are worth looking over. Namely the Clans Behemoth(Stone Rhino), their refits, and the IS's Grand Titan, Bezerker, Raksasha, and a few others.

On the whole, though, I have to say that this Readout was somewhat lacking in both quantity and quality and probably would better serve as an update or added in to 3050 as a revised edition. The Aerospace and Additional Omnimech sections are almost non-existant or inconsequencial (note the tacky fighter called the vandal on the first page in the section). Definately not one of FASA's shining moments here.

Summary: Not bad
Review: Not a bad effort, but more thought, creativity, and finesse could have been put into the work.

Summary: Easily the worst of all the Technical Readouts
Review: Technical Readout 3055 was written during the "dark years" of FASA's BattleTech line, when writing, layout, and illustrations were at an all-time low. Even by the standards of the time, the illustrations in this book are some of the worst that have ever appeared anywhere in FASA's products. The 'Mech designs are all poorly conceived and drawn, with many, such as the Naginata, looking like they are made of cardboard boxes. As for the stats of the 'Mechs, they are mostly "munchkin" designs, with multiple pulse lasers and streak SRM launchers, etc.

Summary: Interesting, but don't waste your mony if you fight clan.
Review: The pictures in TR:3055 sre horible. There is only a few good IS mechs'. All the clan desighns are bad. If you fight clan or IS, don't buy it.

Summary: If it's got the Penetrator in it ,it can't be all bad !
Review: The whole point of this book is to show the way in which the Inner sphere's mech designers used the sheer volume of lostech coming in from captured clan units. Of cause the designers went a little crazy, who would'nt . In addition, the clan forces are the out of date PGC units such as the Jenner IIc. In conclusion, this helps add to the BTech universe's realism. People are just annoyed because their clan units are having a harder time walking on I.S mechs now.

Summary: This Book is one of the Best
Review: This book has some of the more effective IS designs to date. With designs like the Grand Titan, Grim Reaper, and Cerebus, this book cannot be ignored. The Clan designs, however, are not the best out there. the new Omnis tend to be too fast and undergunned, but the second-line designs help in defensive clan scenarios. Don't listen to the people who have no punctuation and can't spell right, get this book.

Summary: Go for IT!
Review: This book is a good addition to the Battletech Universe. Although it lacks the shear quantity of 3050 it makes up for it in how it describes each mech's Overview, Capabilites, and Deployment, something that FASA forgot about in 3050. It is one of my favorites (besides 3025).

Summary: Not worth the effort.
Review: This book is a tradgety. There is no finse in most of these 'mechs. If you played the Level 1 rules and then had descovered the Level 2 and beyond, then out know what happened. You outfitted your favorite mech to the hilt in new tech [then ityou found out howeasy it was to shoot out an extralight engine.]and disigned several rediculus ones that wouldn't work anyway. Thats what happened to the writres of this book. They wen't bonkeres with all this new tech and really churned out a crappy book. While there were sevral notable Designs of worth [Penetrator and maybe even the Hitma, most were pretty lame. My advice is that if you really want tis book your not giong to listen to me anyway. On the other hand, if you realy are emotoanaly athatched to that twenty in your hand. Do what I did, let your friend buy it and then borrow it.

Summary: it was good considering the time
Review: What many people forget is that the clans were rebuilding and the refusal war was about to start.
