Rating: Summary: The Left Behind Series Review: Assassins, like all of the others in the series, was excellent. Since 'Left Behind' I've not taken more than 3 days to read one from start to finish and I don't normally take the time to read! I highly recommend this book (and the entire series) to EVERY LUKE WARM CHRISTIAN out there. You'll be 'on fire' for Jesus all over again! I found nothing that denys or contradicts the Bible and I sincerely appreciate these wonderful authors giving us some 'clean and up-lifting' fiction! Keep 'em coming!
Rating: Summary: Slowly but Surely Review: Assassins is the 6th of a 12 book series that covers the Millenium, the end times of the biblical book of Revelation. While this is a good read, it is slow. The whole book covers about 3 days of action. It is somewhat frustrating to read through more than 400 pages only to move 3 days ahead in the 7 years of the Millenium. Still, the plot is good, as we see Christians battling the temptation to commit murder against the AntiChrist. The suspense is strong, and the book takes quite a few winding twists and turns, but it finally gets there. Hang in there till the end-it is outstanding.
Rating: Summary: Something to look forward to. Review: With every book in the series I have learned more about prophecy. Another fan of these books also turned me on to the Zion novels by Brock and Bodie Thoene. I read their most recent book, Jerusalem Vigil which is a must read for anyone who wants to know first hand how God began the fulfillment of end times prophecy in l948. Taken together, this series and all the Left Behind novels bring it all to light.
Rating: Summary: I can't believe it Review: I have managed to trudge through all 6 of these books out of sheer will to understand why it's so successful. I can't believe that books that lack depth, story, sense of characters, and are so badly written can be on the best sellers list. The characters in these books are unbelieveable, shallow, too perfect (after being saved), and totally uninteresting.
Rating: Summary: ummmm...what happened? Review: the three books before this one were so action packed that i could hardly catch my breath and then we get this? the vital information that the reader needs to have before moving on to the next in the series couldve and, in my opinion, should have been said in about 80 pages which as one earlier reviewer stated, couldve been accomplished in either the last book or the next book. i am also growing tired of the constant repeating, repeating, repeating. while i have read many series books before, and i understand that if by chance a person were to pick up the middle book in a series, it is important that the story stand alone, but lets face it, if someone where to pick up this book as a first, they would be completely lost as to the events that have, had, and will take place regardless of how many times you go over the fact that rayford feels sorry for himself because he lost his wife, son and second wife 3 years ago. (i have to have read that at least 5 times in this story alone and if i hear it one more time, im gonna scream!) i did have to give this book 3 stars because the last 40 pages were wonderful, more like the last 3! on to the next ::smile
Rating: Summary: A wonderful book! Review: Assasins was a wonderfully written book that portrays the prophecy of Revelation beautifully. It is, by far, the best of the Left Behind Series. It is full of action and suspense, and is almost impossible to put it down. As the sixth left behind series book, it follows the whole series very well. It makes it seem like one large book. It is a very great book and I hope that everyone reads it.
Rating: Summary: Breath taking Review: One of the best books in the installment so far. Assassins keeps you thinking, and assuming many questions. If you are a Left Behind fan, you will deffiently enjoy reading this book.
Rating: Summary: I've been Left Behind Review: Left Behind was good enough to get me hooked on reading the next four but Assassins is the last one for me. This has become like the day time soaps where there is little content between the cliff hanging end of one book and the next. There really isn't even a coherent story anymore. Assassins was full of disgusting violence inappropriate for a Christian book series. This is the kind of mind-garbage I try to avoid. The Left Behind series has gone down the sewer of glamorized violence. The original premise of Left Behind, to explore the post-Rapture days based on scripture in Revelation, has worn so thin that there is nothing recognizable anymore. From now on, just leave me behind.
Rating: Summary: The Best Book Review: Assassins was a great book. It's about a group of people who were left behind in the Rapture. None of them really knew eachother, but by coincedence, they're all drawn to a church outside of Chicago where they and the minister there form a group called the Tribulation Force. After dangerous missions, two of them go to Galalee and witness the assassanation of the worlds most important person...
Rating: Summary: Greatest Book Yet Review: Assassins is the best book of the series. It is very suspenseful. It is action packed. It leaves you wondering who killed Carpathia at the end. The authors make it very exciting and suspenseful. I would reccomend this book to anyone, believers and non-believers.
