Summary: Finally figured it out...
Review: This book is the best of the series, and yesterday I realized why. For the first time in the entire set of books, we finally see a person -Rayford- become genuinely hurt by the horrible situation he is in. Millions -check that- BILLIONS have died or disapeared by the beginning of the 6th book, and all anyone in the Trib Force seemed to think about was the task at hand, or how wonderful Jesus is. Finally, Rayford reacts as many of us would in the same situation: sheer, uncontained rage. By the end of the 6th book, he has lost his son, BOTH of his wives and at least two members of the "Force." His home and city that he lives in has been reduced to rubble and a former friend had been impregnated by the Anti-Christ. Not to mention the fact that he has seen some of the most horrible events in the history of the known universe: plagues of locusts, fire and brimstone. For crying out loud, it is about time someone began to doubt their sanity!

Unfortunately, however, the authors still resort to using background on the characters as not-so-thinly veiled sermons about sin and Christ as Savior. I realize that the authors are Christian theologians, and ultimately these books are evangelism, but it seems they missed the point. The interpretation of Revelation's plagues and horrors these people encounter are enough for the hairs on your neck to stand on end. Why not give more introspectives into the character's feelings and emotions through dealing with these events? Rayford is broken, and for the first time we see a man at odds with himself, the world and God. His rage during the burial scene in the first third of the book is the closest I have come to absolute empathy with the members of the Force. It is at these junctures that we can truly see what a force God can be in one's life. A prayer session to an outsider (like myself) is little more than a reason to skim a page. I have been more convinced of the power of Christ and religion by this book than any of the others, only because the characters (especially Rayford) are humans first, and Christians second. He has feelings of regret about bribing someone to find the location of Hattie, and he looks inside- a personal monologue to God- for the answer. It is my hope that the authors continue this trend; moving away from blatant sermons and into the aspects of a personal relationship with Christ.

Summary: AN AWESOME READING SERIES
Review: As a new believer, I have struggled with books and series of books never seeming to be able to finish what ever it was I was reading. In this series of books (Left Behind) I have found a series of books that has filled me with a need to complete everyone of them but then feeling bad because there are only # number of books left in the series. Never before have I felt the need to keep reading a book and not be able to put it down. If you have found yourself with the same problem in the past, you will be very pleasently surprised. This series is very compelling and I find myself giddy every time a new title comes out.

Summary: Kicking some booty!
Review: AWESOME!!! This book is great. With this one, as with the rest in this series, I couldn't put it down. I felt the rage of Rayford Steel and the disgust of David Hassid as if I was there. What a life, living in incognito with the worlds biggest enemy. I really liked the ending, I left me guessing. There were alot of people who wanted to do the job and be the assassin. Two thumbs up!

Summary: On the edge of my seat!
Review: WOW! This is the best book out of this series(so far). I couldn't put it down. Lahaye and Jenkins once again did another awesome job. This series would be scary to me if I wasn't a believer, and if your not you better re-think where you are! Don't be caught with the short end of the stick.

Summary: WOW!......What An Ending!
Review: I'm going to write this review real quick, no offense to anyone, but I have to hurry and start the next book! In Assassins, #6 in the series, we see plenty take place. Here are a few of those events. A new member joins the Tribulation Force after another sadly dies. Hattie escapes the safe house, and all worry she will jeopardize them. The 200 million horsemen come to slay more of the remaining population. Inside GC Mac and David, and a new "spy", keep their eyes and ears open. I could keep going on and on, so much happens in this book, but I don't want to spoil it for you. I have to say though that the ending is a good one! I don't want to give any details away, but have the next book in hand, because you won't want to wait to see what happens!

Summary: Don't buy this book!
Review: Even though I've done grad work towards a PhD I couldn't understand what this book was about. It's as boring as anything could be. It's all constant conversation between characters that are undeveloped and the religious nature, seems like someone's trying to convert rather than entertain. Avoid if you can.

Summary: Another hit
Review: I would have never guesed how the book ended....it leaves you wanting book #7 right now!

book 6 was probably my favorite so far...it's a toss up between books 1,2,3,4,5 & 6 for favorite...ok ok so I like them all. but book #6 is so far the best.

Summary: INTERESTING
Review: i have read all the books thus far and found this one to be intreging because of the turmoil poor rayford goes through...alot of stress but that would be normal under the circumstances...the silly immature behavior of buck and chole is beyond believable...both are selfish and don't give thought to the needs of the trib force or each other as long as they do exactly what they want to do regardless of who suffers...this i find to be totally unbelievable considering what is suppose to be going on in the world around them and how much time they have left...good Lord. the writers really should have spent some time on making the characters more believable...it doesn't seem right the characters behaving like this at a time like this...also, the whole trib force is afraid to approach rayford when he needs help with the stress going on in his life. he has faults, frailties and needs just like everyone else. who are these people that they don't help each other? Rayford makes you proud and his redemption is worth the book..

Summary: Content vs. Theory vs. Writing
Review: I am going to put the same review on each of the "Left Behind" series books because my reaction to each of them is basically the same. (For actual content, read Amazon's description above. For my bent on the series, read on.)

There are basically three main theories concerning Christ's return, based off scripture, and though I won't get into them here, this one is off the pre-tribulation theory. (Which is actually the same one I believe in.) The problem is, I know why I believe in this particular theory, whereas other Christian may simply read this book and say, "Oh, so that's what's going to happen!" Well, before you do that, check your Bible and other sources, and don't just base it off these books. OK, time to step off my soapbox...

As far as writing talent, I have been VERY disappointed with all the books in this series. At first, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking the writing was so simplistic so younger kids could read them too, until I discovered they have a young kids version out for this series, at which point I was just saddened. So don't expect a well-written novel, as I feel each book's writing has become more and more simple with each release. And by this, I don't mean the story doesn't flow, because it does. It's just written in such simply words that even a grade-schooler could read it without any problems.

As far as content, you'll find stuff in here you like, I don't doubt that, but if you're like me, you'll be skimming many areas because you don't care about every single step that every single person takes to get from point A to point B. It's a tedious read at parts, but if you like the study of the end times, as do I, or like reading Christian novels, as do I, then these books will suffice. But don't base your belief system off them until you know more than just what's presented here, and certainly DON'T read them if literary content is your main goal as you won't find well-WRITTEN novels here. If it weren't for that fact alone, I'd be devouring these books as they came out, but as it is, I've read them after friends buy them and are done with them since I am interested in the story, but not the work it takes for me to constantly forgive the writing.
