Summary: I loved The Golden Cat, it captured my emotions.
Review: I could feel the story evolving, and it made me cry several times. I could relate the story to my own cats, and how they act. I loved The Golden Cat.

Summary: The horror
Review: I couldn't wait to finish reading this book because I desperately wanted it to be over. The horrific and vivid descriptions of violence against felines was overwhelming... not to mention just too frequent. Sometimes it felt like there were different writers penning different chapters. The style seemed to change frequently, and when the story began the characters had slightly different personalities from the first book, THE WILD ROAD, which I liked much better (even though the climax and resolution lacked in that one.) I especially missed Tag in this book. We barely spend any time with him at all. But if you're in it for descriptive passages King gives that in spades.

Summary: Is this a trilogy?
Review: I enjoyed this book, but it wasn't quite as well written as the first - "The Wild Road". Reading only short amounts on a daily basis, it was sometimes difficult to follow the many story threads. It was fun to remember places in New Orleans as Sealink visited them. The author(s) were clever in reintroducing some characters from the first book. I think Tag could have (or should have) played a larger part in this book and did not need to seem so bewildered through out it. It seems there could be a third book coming.

Summary: The Golden Cat
Review: I give this book 5 stars, and I think it's much better than "The Wild Road," King's first book. It's not nerely as hard to stay interested to, and I particularly liked the focus on the character of Sealink, and how you learned a lot more about her origins. One thing that I found a little confusing is how the characters changed, rather too abruptly to be realistic. Tag and Ragnar in particular. Other than that I found this book an interseting, enjoyable read, and much better and easier to follow than "The Wild Road".

Summary: Sequel lives up to my expectations
Review: I just finished reading The Golden Cat 20 minutes ago, and I must say, I thought it was as good as, if not better, than the first book, The Wild Road. Gabriel King's writing is outstanding, the plot is unique, and the characters are fully described without making the book long and boring. This book, along with the Wild Road, is a must-read for all animal lovers.

Summary: An outstanding Seqel!!
Review: If you fell in love with "The Wild Road" like I did, then you will LOVE this sequel! The character development delves even further in this storyline, making it that much more intriguing to read. All of our favorite characters are back in this tale of good vs. evil and battling the alchemist once more to return the Wild Roads to their natural state. I found this book to have a more "serious" tone than its predecessor because it goes right into the heart of animal cruelty, experiementation, and vivisection. Some sections are very upsetting that deal with these topics, but even those squeamish of heart should try to get through them as they are a reality to many animals. Beyond the serious topics, there is still plenty of high adventure and humor, especially when it comes to Sealink! There are also some wonderful surprises in store for return readers :-)What can I say...I laughed, I cried, I loved it! If you are a cat lover and have not read these two books, I can assure you that they will quickly rise among your favorites. Will there be a third??

Summary: Philosophical journey and exciting adventure!
Review: In this wonderful sequel to Wild Road, the animal characters continue their journey to protect the balance of chaotic and orderly forces in the world. The book explores deep philisophical questions about the truth of reality and existence, science, and friendship. The flashbacks and references to human history and humankind's treatment of animals and other humans is moving. This is no cutesy cat detective story but a real work of art, and an entertaining adventure as well.

Summary: A purrfect read!
Review: It's obvious that Gabriel King has a great love and respect for the feline species, which positively purrs forth from his writing. Employing intense observational detail with moments of delightful comedy strong, King's clever prose in "The Golden Cat" will evoke a positive reaction from animal lovers everywhere. Admirably, King also explores and comments on animal cruelty throughout this part mystery/part fantasy tale. As a lover of cats, I found "The Golden Cat" to be a purrfect read.
