Summary: I have never read something worse about SW
Review: I just need few space to say that this one is the WORST book I've ever read about Star Wars ever. Believe me, don't you even try!. Don't get attracted to the Dark Side!

Summary: I have seen the Apocolypse...and it is the Crystal Star
Review: Dabbling in writing myself I know how hard it is to create a cohesive story from and idea in your brain. Especially in an established universe where continuity constraints can stifle certain creative urges. But to write a good Star Wars book you at least have to try. This book (along with people who went to see the Star Wars Special Editions dressed in costume) made me embarassed to be a Star Wars fan. It took me 5 different attempts to finish it and the relief when I reached the last page that it was all over was immense. The personalities of our beloved characters were so baly mutilated as to be almost unrecognizable. This book also put me off of liking Leia's children for a very long time because of their incessant whining. And of course the ultimate tradgedy was the complete and total lack of any form of space battle. Remember, you cant have a Star Wars story without some wars in the stars. So to you I say don't waste your time with this book. If you really need to read a Star Wars book pick up one of the X-Wing novels and help us all put this grotesque monstrosity behind us.

Summary: Do not read under penalty of death!
Review: First off, I have to say that I love Star Wars and everything associated with it, however this book made me stop reading all Star Wars novels. It totally destroys every image people have built up about the main heros of the book. Please, I beg of you, do not read this book and destroy your love of Star Wars.

Summary: An oddity
Review: This is a strange experience. This is a book I did not particular like, but yet I am compelled to defend it. I liked the plotlines, the kidnapping of the children and the idea of a sinister alien faith healer, lots of potenial there. I also liked the way the affect of the Cystal Star on the Force also affect Luke personality (please remember it is as much of him as say, his left or right arm, maybe moreso.) My biggest problem with the story was the pace. It had none. It started, rambled, and ended. Also, the kids were annoying little brats, hardly worth cheering for, and to make matters worse they were for all intents and purposes the main characters. And I can't ever remember Leia being as vain as she is in this novel. So there you have it, an interesting book, but problems outweigh the possibilities. On par with the Jedi Academy series, and the Barbara Hambly novels. And, face it, The Courtship of Princess Leia, Darksaber and The Black Fleet Crisis were far worse than this could ever be. Adios.

Summary: This book is the haven of unpronouncible words.
Review: Although one of the best books, it w ould be nice to be able to pronounce the words. Come on! Crseih? Rillao? It took me half an hour to figure out Rillao, and I never could figure out Crseih. There were others, but those two were by far the hardest. It was a great book though. The parts where Rillao revealed her past were very moving. Luke acted like an airhead. So what else is new? Anakin acted a lot like his uncle. ( Translation: Anakin was a demanding, immature idiot). Jaina acted even more like her uncle. ( Translation: Jaina was an even bigger idiot). The uniorn was STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leia's fake name wasn't much of a disguise. Couldn't she have thought of a better one than Lelila? Rillao was a very good charecter, but Tigris was too weak.Han isn't as much of a casino bum a this book makes it seem. Waru was extremely idiotic.

Summary: An off beat yet exciting adventure
Review: "The Crystal Star" is the most different of the the Star Wars novels in that the pages aren't filled with blaster fire, star fighter fly byes, or lightsaber duels. Instead the reader wonders just what this mysterious alien cult leader is all about while receiving a strong sense of the personalities of Jana, Jaicen, and Anakin Solo. The children are well written and the story, though simple, keeps the reader turning pages.

Summary: Yuck
Review: I agree with everyone else who gave this book a 1. I know that it's awfully hard to write a book, and all that stuff, but if you're going to write a book, at least try to make it good. Gosh, does McIntyre think that we like to read trash???

Summary: This book sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: This book is horrid. I'd have given it a 0 but there wasn't any on the scale. I felt like tearing the book up when I was done, except it was a library one. Luke did not act like Luke. He was stupid & whiney & got taken in by that Waru blob. I mean, HE IS A JEDI KNIGHT!! Does the author not know what that means? & it felt like Luke was falling to the Dark side . He walked around yelling at everyone. Does that seem like a Jedi to you?? Han was a stupid gambling idiot. I could go on forever...

Summary: Two Thumbs Down
Review: I am a huge Star Wars fan and I've read every book so far to date. This novel is the WORST Star Wars book in existance. It has a very high unbelievability factor and it stretches the Star Wars universe beyond the realm of human comprehension. Two Thumbs Down!!!

Summary: This book was neither the best nor worst i've read
Review: I have to say that I agree with those who said that Hethrir wasn't villainous enough. Ok, so he kidnapped the kids to turn them to the darkside by exposing them to abusive behavior, neglecting them, and rewarding them for displays of temper, but this isn't really much of a plan. It's too simple and it never addresses stuff like what he was planning on doing if he got caught. I also thought that Luke, Leia and the others where out of character. This could just be that the author didn't go into detail enough about what was going on in the character's mind. Yes, I agree that Luke gave in to Waru too quickly, and what was that with him accusing Han of cheating on Leia?! granted, his Force sense was being blocked by whatever was going on with the star near the station, but that should have made him more suspicious of what was goin on. To sum it up, I guess it just wasn't dynamic enough for me. Thats not to say you shouldn't still try it, but don't be too surprised if it disapoints you.
