Rating: Summary: Next Book!! Review: I loved this book!! After reading this installment, I often wondered when the next book was coming out. It has taken forever, but I have GOOD NEWS. I finally found the answer: "Between the Darkness and the Light" will come out in January 2003. This info came directly from the publisher's website.
Rating: Summary: Good Idea, Poor Execution Review: I'm disappointed with this series. Great idea with plenty of twists and turns in the plot, but Norman's characters lack depth and cohesion. It's very frustrating when characters shoot off in every direction and don't seem to have solid personalities. Norman is definately NOT a Cherryh or even McCaffrey.
Rating: Summary: Lisanne does it again! Review: I've just finished reading SR for the second time! This book focuses on Kusac and the challenges he faces as he tries to pick up his life after all he suffered from his captivity with the Valtegans. His relationships with everyone are strained as he tries to reintegrate with his Triad. The book also expands the Alliance universe with more information about different species and their roles in the Sholan and Valtegan histories. It is a challenging read, the flashback method keeps you on your toes to look for clues about who is doing what! The ending is true Lisanne Norman with the expectation of lots more exciting reading ahead. When is the next book due out?
Rating: Summary: Best of the Series so far! Review: I've read all the books in this series and I have to say that they're all well written, but I think this one is the best so far. Can't wait until the next one in the series comes out.

Rating: Summary: Cannot Believe I Am Still So Involved Review: Kusac and Carrie, the Sholan and human couple from the previous books, have been kidnapped at the beginning of Stronghold Rising. This, combined with power struggles between Shola and the Valytegan world, has created a rift in already delicate negotiations between the two. Kusac has been tortured by the supposedly pacifist Primes. But he must rise from his sickbed to go on a mission avert a interplanetary war. What he finds could brand him a traitor among his own people, could break up his marriage, and could either save, or destroy his entire universe. Although Carrie is convinced of Kusac's innocence, other Sholans are not so convinced. As usual in Norman's novels, the story is compelling and satisfying, but something is held back. If you haven't read the previous novels, you might want to start at the beginning to experience the full impact of Ms. Norman's talent.

Rating: Summary: Where's the next? Review: Ms. Norman's done it again- another wonderful escape into the world of Shola.Stronghold Rising is a continiation of what Carrie's Triad lives with after her mate's return from the Valtegan ships; how their lives were torn apart as Kusac strives to deal with his memories of torture, his sight of his former Leska now Linked to his Swordbrother and living without the Talent he's never been without. She brings out emotions in the characters which are so vivid, carrying empathy for the pain they share clearly to the reader. The only thing that kept me from rating this a full five star book was that for the first section it was a bit difficult to dig into the story line. Ms. Norman is trying some storytelling techniques that the first of her books didn't use, delving into the present time, then into a past, then even further into the past while also changing locations between the three timelines. Into the second part of the book (clearly marked as Part II), I couldn't get enough of the story. She provides another good piece which I really enjoyed.. until the final page when I realized that there was going to be another wait... it left enough ties open that another book must be in the works. I'm waiting quite anxiously.
Rating: Summary: When is the next book due out? Review: Ok, Ok, I admit it...I am hooked on the story of Kusac, Carrie and Kaid. So when is the next book due out??? You left the reader in an anxious position with the end of this series, and no information at the end telling your readers when the next one is scheduled. (...) C'mon, folks, it's enough to make devoted readers not want to start a series of books unless the end has already been written! It's what I did with the Robert Jordan books...didn't start reading the whole series until the "Conclusion" novel had been done.
Rating: Summary: Twisty but fun! Review: Something of a depature in style from Lisanne Norman's previous works, Stronghold Rising is a worthy continuation of this series. Fans of her previous works will love the twists and turns in the plot, though yet again Ms. Norman leaves us with a cliffhanger ending, which leads to the inevitable question... "When is the next book due out?"
