Rating: Summary: FINE Review: The book was okay, but the description of the book is incorrect. That is the description of the third book Owlknight or whatever it is.
Rating: Summary: Getting tired of this... Review: Misty is starting to get YA!! I read her books originally because it was Adult. What bugs me about YA is that the plots in general are not as developed and there is not alot of action. but this book and Owlflight will do not a lot of good for new readers but if you're an avid Lackey reader you'll enjoy this. I was missing some of the older characters but I'm glad that there are some of them in here, even though I really would have like to have Elspeth and Darkwind in here. This book was Ok, but not really great. I think it has something to do with Larry Dixon--whenever Lackey works with him she doesn't write as well. I hope she will get better with the plot development cuz most of your readers are getting tired of this lacking of plot thing.
Rating: Summary: This is one of my favorite book of the Valdmar series!! Review: I personally think OwlSight is a wonderful book, written well and have a great plot. However, it's not as good as OwlFlight, the first book. (The first one have a little more action in it.) I especially like the characters like Keisha and Darian. They actually have a personality!!
Rating: Summary: DISAPPOINTED Review: I, like many other fans reviewing this book, have also read all of ML's books and this was definitely a bad one. It was BORING and juvenille. What is going on? How about a little action and characters who aren't made of sugar...
Rating: Summary: One very good sequal... Review: I am an avid reader of the Valdemar series... for a while now I have been looking for like minded people. Send me some mail on the subject... as far as her books go I have read every single one and Misty keeps getting better each time she publishes a book... still waiting for 3rd Owl though!
Rating: Summary: WOW!!!!! Review: i thought that this was another great book for Misty and her husband Larry. i liked the way they made the characters believe able and down to earth. i also like the facts that they had some of their other characters from earlier series(s), and that they had a new mysterious disease to fight. when is the next book coming out?!?
Rating: Summary: I love every Valdemar book, this is one of the best!! Review: I absolutely love this book, Mercedes Lackey has a wonderful way with words and a terrific ability to develop characters! I know exactly what Keisha was going through, the characters are so down to earth and human. Mercedes Lackey keeps the characters and plot so uncomplicated that you could imagine this happening to you. It doesn't seem as far-fetched as the plots and characters of other sci-fi authors. I would love to see a Valdemar trilogy that is placed between the Mage Wars and The Herald-Mage books. Perhaps a trilogy about King Valdemar's people and the Founding.
Rating: Summary: Expected better Review: I am a major Mercedes Lackey fan and have loved some of her previous Valdemar books but this one just didn't live up to them. I read the first one in the series Owlflight and thought "that's it?" and waited to get this one to read. After I was through with this book I was terribly dissapointed. The main characters Keisha and Darian tended to be total goody-goodies and hardly had any negative characteristics. The adventure and action that I loved so much in her other books was gone. Ther was hardly any conflict and the antagonists didn't show up untill the end, and even then they were sort of thrown in. The biggest complaint I have though is that the characters she brought in from the previous Valdemar books i.e. Kerowyn, Eldan, etc. didn't keep the same personalities they had in their original books. Over all it was one-sided and boring. I am hoping that the next one in the series is a whole lot better. Either that or her new Valdemar series to come (if she makes more) start to improve. If you want to read some of Misty's better works check out her Last Herald-Mage series and her Heralds of Valdemar series. Some other authors you may want to check out are Sherwood Smith, Tamora Pierce, Elizabeth Kerner, Dennis Mckiernan, Robin Mckinley, Terry Goodkind, and Ursala Le Guin.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I've read in awhile Review: I was introduced to Mercedes Lackey just a little over a year ago and since then have read ever book of hers that I could find. I look forward to each of her forthcoming books because I know that it will be better than the last.... Her books will definetly keep you up at night.
Rating: Summary: An excellent fantasy sequel in an outstanding series Review: A great sequel to an excellent first book, in an outstanding series. A great plot that truly develops the characters from the first book. The ending left a little to desire, but overall this book gave as good as it got. I was quite impressed with some of the ideas and plots presented by the author. Overall, a splendid addition to any fantasy buuf's collection.
