Summary: Edge-of-your-seat drama
Review: I could hardly put this down, and just when I thought I'd figured it out, there was a new twist. This is no rehash of a tired plot. The characters and storyline are unique, and the action is unending.

Summary: Web of Suspicion
Review: I enjoyed Ingermanson's "Transgression," but this book takes his writing to another level. What starts out as a basic trip to Mars (could that really be basic?) turns into a nightmare of suspicion, sabotage, and stretches of faith. Through witty and believable dialogue, with detailed research and thorough but never cumbersome facts, the authors sweep us along into a captivating scenario. Along the way, we come to know Bob and Valkerie and the others that surround their work and relationship. The web of suspicion draws tighter and tighter until the last fifty pages when even further surprises are revealed. What seems to be a fairly straightforward survival-in-space story contains much more. I read the last paragraph with a smile, a short laugh, and my heart in my throat. This is smooth and effortless storytelling. Well worth it.

Summary: Good story, with some flaws
Review: I found the plot to be quite entertaining. However, I have a feeling that if you're not a christian believer, you will find the periodic musings about faith to be somewhat trite and silly. But if you can ignore those areas, you'll discover a fairly exciting story.

Summary: A dissenting opinion.
Review: I found this book disappointing. I was under the impression that this novel was Christian, but it has some problems in my opinion. It has the supposedly Christian character viewing anyone who protests against evil as being nutty. It also supports evolution, and even brings out the very real truth of those who support it faking evidence for the sake of money, with those who should be concerned basically overlooking that fact. Worst of all, it portrays being "born again" as getting some kind of feeling when a person comes to believe in some Generic God over the universe. No mention of belief in Christ and what He accomplished.
Focusing on just the sci-fi aspects, I can say that the science elements seem well researched. The plot had some problems, though. I remember two distinct instances of when a crisis was occuring that either another plot element came up, and the crisis seemed to drop from importance, or something besides what was required to end the crisis was obtained, and somehow the crisis was fixed.
With the problems in theology, and the confusing plot elements, compared to the well-researched science, I cannot honestly give the novel more than two stars as Christian sci-fi for which it is advertised.

Summary: AMAZING
Review: I never thought I'd enjoy a sci-fi book as much as I enjoyed this. Though it was an easy read, the story was still complex and somewhat deep. The authors explore the dynamics between the crew, as well as the amazing dangers of traveling to Mars. It's a real page turner. I definitely recommend it.

Summary: oxygen left me breathless
Review: I received this book (along with 5th Man and Adrenaline)as a gift. I was sceptical since I have never read Christian fiction before(except for the Left behind series) and had read the bios on the authors(impressive). I truely enjoyed these books and could not put them down. I read them all within two weeks of receiving them. I would recommend them to any one who wants a well written, suspenseful read.

Summary: Christian Science Fiction?
Review: I wasn't quite sure what to expect from a Christian Sci-fi book, sounded vaguely like a contradiction in terms to me. However, I got a very pleasant surprise. The plot was laid out very well. I didn't once have to flip back to try and verify who did what, when or why. The characters were well built and all of them were wonderful.

This book had very obvious, wonderful, research behind it. I never once had to shake my head and wonder if something put into the stories by the authors could have been possible or not. Everything was very believable. However, they didn't cross the line into so much technical detail that you felt that you were trying to dig through a text book.

All-in-all, I enjoyed this book very much. I spent a couple of nights staying up way too late just to see what was going to happen next.

Summary: Out of breath excitement!
Review: I would recommend breathing deeply before jumping into this one! It really does take your breath away at times.

I was hooked from early on; I am not usually one to read anything having to do with space or science, and yet I simply couldn't put this book down. I was drawn in to the story, even feeling as if I was with the crew. And it kept me guessing until the very end.

The dialogue was believable. The characters were real. I could see what the authors were showing me, and my non-scientific mind was able to understand things I didn't think I could grasp.

Gripping, emotional but not sentimental, paced well -- I highly recommend this book!

Now I'm waiting for a sequel! (Please guys?)

Summary: Absolutely Thrilling
Review: If you enjoyed watching Apollo 13, then you will love this book. This book will take you through an incredible journey right from the very beggining. If you could imagine what a trip to Mars would be like if you were traveling with Mcgyver, Sherlock Holmes and John Glenn, then you would have some idea of what to expect. I thoroughly reccomend this book. I can't wait for the movie.....there will be a movie won't there? This is the book they should have used as a base for the film called "The Red Planet." Now if they could only find a way to make Richard Dean Anderson (McGyver)look like astranaut Valkerie Jansen! You wont be dissapointed!

Summary: Action, Science Fiction, Technology, Suspense & Romance
Review: In 2012, Valkerie Jansen's extensive research in microbial ecology grabs the attention of the Johnson Space Center. Instantly, she finds herself thrust into NASA's astronaut program.

But when a surprise resignation leaves an opening on the Ares 10 crew, Valkerie prepares for a new mission. She's going to Mars.

A little over a year later, the Ares 10 crew lifts off and faces turbulence from the start. A rough launch followed by a mysterious explosion rocks the team.

And in the middle of it all, the unthinkable becomes a reality: the spacecraft is losing oxygen.

Is a saboteur on board? Even now, no one knows if someone on the ground crew is determined to sabotage the mission. Suspicions run high and trust was left back on Earth.

NASA calculates and re-calculates. There's simply not enough oxygen to last for all four crew members. And it's too late to turn back for Earth. Too late to be rescued.

Only one alternative remains. An option that leaves the entire mission and everyone's lives in the hands of one person.

Are they the right hands?

John B. Olson and Randall Ingermanson teamed up to create a novel filled with action, science fiction, technology, suspense and even romance. Oxygen leaves you hanging until the very last page, coupled with a surprise ending.
