Summary: Oxygen
Review: Oxygen is one of those great books that keep you on the edge of your seat. This book is a lot like Apollo 13, except of course this crew did actually make it to their destination, which is Mars, not the Moon.
Oxygen is an adventure/mystery/romance novel about a space mission that went wrong because of a bomb that exploded while the crew of four, Valkerie, Bob, Kennedy, and Lex, were in space, on their way to Mars. There were only a few people who could have placed it- one of the crew themselves or one the few people of Earth who are telling the crew what to do. Another problem presents itself soon after this- their spacecraft is running out of oxygen. The only way they all could survive is if three of them are put in comas while the fourth one stays awake to revive them when they reach their destination, but trust has become scarce since the bombing and each of the crew is unwilling to let another stay awake.

Summary: A suspenseful space mystery
Review: A absolutely WONDERFUL book. the thrilling story of 4 astronauts on a mission to mars where everything that can go wrong does. It keeps you on the edge of you seat to see what happens to Valkerie and the other astronauts. This is a must buy for SciFi and space buffs. I can't wait for the sequel.

Summary: Will Leave You Breathless
Review: A fascinating tale of near-future Science Fiction, the skill and brilliance of the writing of this pair of books more than compensates for a couple of technical, logistic oversights.

This is a rich and rewarding read with high drama, incredible risks, competing political and career goals for both individuals and for Multi-Billion Dollar industries. It combines competing ideologies, elements of romance, and a raw survival instinct in a harsh and completely unforgiving environment.

Summary: A Real Eye Opener....
Review: As a science fiction writer, I was a bit skeptical...but once I started reading, the hesitancy broke away to sheer pleasure! I have NEVER been so drawn into a story the way I was with Oxygen. I work nights and unfortunately I started reading this book entirely too late in the evening--at seven o'clock one night after dinner. I kept reading while my husband put my kids to bed. I kept reading when my husband went to bed. Finally, at three o'clock in the morning, I attempted some self-discipline and put the book down, turned off the light and climbed under the covers for a good nights..er..morning's nap. I lay there trying to get to sleep...but my mind was racing! What would happen to Valkerie? Stopping at a point where Valkerie is stranded on the umbilical outside the ship is a HORRIBLE place to stop reading. I flipped the light switch back on, and finished the book--IN ONE SITTING!!! I only got two hours of sleep that night, but it was worth every minute of deprivation!

I also read Fifth Man--but this time I was prepared, and armed myself with some strong will. I only stayed up until two-thirty that time. ;-) I'm reading Premonition right now and it's delectable!!

The authors really know how to throw you and keep you guessing! FANTASTIC READ!!!

Summary: Requires at LEAST 2 sequels
Review: Didn't want to put it down, but things (ie. work, eating, sleeping) required me to. The story line was well thought out and written and the suspense was at times too much to bear, especially when Valkerie was the only one of the four awake and hearing strange noises.

Randy, John: Get writing. At least 1 book about their work on Mars and 1 book to get them home.

Summary: This is a book you can't put down!
Review: Fellow readers:

Honestly, I could hardly put this book down. I do not characterize many books this way, and I consider myself as an avid reader, especially of the science fiction genre.

This book is captivating in many areas. First, the story line is gripping. The characters are complex and believable and lend support to the believability of the plot. The hard-core science and physics (as well as the NASA protocols) which underly the plot are both interesting and VERY well researched. Finally, there is the spiritual aspect (a decidedly Christian one) which flows throughout the story line. I find the treatment of this both tactful and thought-provoking. There are books whose writers have thrust their views on you in an unnatural and in-your-face sort of way. This is NOT one of them. If anything, the Christian ponderings give depth and believability to the characters.

Stories like this too seldom come on the scene. I cannot recommended it strongly enough. You are definitely in for the ride of your life!

Summary: Once it grabs you it doesn't let go!
Review: For those who love to read SCI-FI Oxygen is an excellent read that will grab ahold of you and won't let go until you've finished the last page.

Mars exploration is the exciting backdrop for an in-depth and realistic look at the critical role the human factor plays in space exploration. Most SCI-FI novels always have what I call "the perfect world" setting that always leaves me with a "like that could ever happen" feeling. Oxygen is an exciting, gripping and most importantly more realistic look at the future of Mars exploration.

Buy the book and join the crew. Trust me, you won't regret it!

Summary: More than Just a Summer's Read
Review: Get ready for a rip roaring ride to Mars. This is near future science fiction that both thinks and thrills. But best of all, between zigs and zags the authors have captured plainly how we wrestle with belief and doubt. The dialogue between astronauts about the question of our origins is the truest I've read. Give it a shot, and pass it on.

Summary: Good suspenseful christian reading!
Review: Good reading! I enjoyed every page of this book.
A Trip to Mars in just a few short years? I don't know, but if we did, what might the trip be like...
I picked up this book and at first thought, oboy what did I pick up... These men have big creditials and it's a space story. How would I find interest in this. Well I started reading and before I knew it, I was done the book.
This is one of those books you don't judge by it's cover. It's a bit of everything, politics, media, love, God, relationships, doubt, suspense...You name, they put it in this book and did it well.
