Summary: Is this really M:TG?
Review: This is the first book I read from the Harper Collection. I got it after reading the OnLine Opinions. I disagree! (1) I don't think the story nor the characters have anything to do with MTG. (2) Since when we consider good writing the constant use of a thesaurus?

Summary: One of the best Magic: The Gathering books that I have read
Review: While this is the first of a two part episode, it works well as a stand alone story. I was hesitant to read it at first because I prefer to read sequential novels all at the same time, since many of this type are one long story split across several books. However, I was pleasantly supprised to find that this novel reached a logical conclusion at the end. The sequel may use the same characters and setting, but it does not detract from the completeness of the first book. I was very impressed with the richness of the characters and the vivid description of the civilization in which the story takes place. The plot was also very well thought out and all in all the book was a very enjoyable read. I would also highly recommend Teri's first book, "The Cursed Land"
