Summary: A masterpiece
Review: I thought that I would be able to read this book bit by bit, but... well it was impossible. When I began reading, I just couldn't stop! It was so good! Everybody who likes/ever liked Spock/Nimoy should read this book!! I myself have re-read it over and over again!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Good read
Review: This is a very good book but like before it I was surprised at the lack of detailed coverage of his early years. If anyone is planing to read "I am not Spock" as well as this book definitely do so first. The coverage in "Not Spock" is less detailed and most of the important stories are covered in this volume. I missed the Spock/Nimoy chats in this book. Some are contained but mainly only as chapter headers. I suspect this book could be summed up as covering Nimoy's public life. Where as "Not Spock" gave up as bit more on his internal thinking. The stories that are in both books tend to have been expanded a bit in this volume. It is interesting to hear Nimoy's views on the making of the films. I don't think they add anything to William Shatner's Star Trek Movie memories but it helps validate Shatner's book for me. Definitely a good read. Buy it.

Summary: Worth the read
Review: I AM SPOCK is an interesting book. Some of the content is similar to (if not identical to) Nimoy's earlier book, I AM NOT SPOCK. I AM SPOCK in general picks up where the earlier book left off in the mid-1970's, telling the story of the Star Trek movies and Nimoy's directing career. It is very entertaining and provides some interesting insights into big-movie Hollywood. One gets the feeling sometimes that a lot of the encounters and dialogue have been sugar-coated a bit, but the facts presented are worth the read alone.

Now, if they only included a promotional set of Spock ears with the book!

Summary: Excellent Autobiography
Review: This is exactly what a Star Trek fan needs to fill the void left by the cancellation of this show. Nimoy's book is intelligent and full of insight. It was particularly interesting to understand how the character Spock evolved over time and how Leonard Nimoy, the actor, worked to perfect the Spock we know and love. Unfortunately, it does make you hungry for more, more, more Trek! 79 episodes and a handful of motion pictures is not enough! I stayed up all night reading this and immediately raced out the next day to search for his first book, "I Am Not Spock." I've even started reading Star Trek novels, as well as the autobiographies of other actors on Star Trek, just to satisfy my new Spock addiction. It was also gratifying to learn that Leonard Nimoy had a good track record outside of Star Trek, in plays as well as film. This background history, added to his insightful descriptions of the concept behind Star Trek and his subsequent successes as a director, makes one feel that Star Trek fandom is the choice of intelligent beings. I read this and felt flattered that I'd had the good sense to love Star Trek in spite of abuse from non-Trekkers. Nimoy is a great actor, on or off of Star Trek. And his kind-but-truthful treatment of William Shatner and Gene Roddenberry, both of whom he could have eviscerated, tells you that he is a good man and a loyal friend as well. Great book, well worth reading!

Summary: Beyond Logic
Review: A wonderful book. What can I say? Leonard Nimoy's stories are delightful and his book will please both, trekkers and non-trekkers. In it, we learn a lot about this great actor, director and - what do you know? - poet. Nimoy tells us about his career and, of course, clarifies the decade-long buzz about his "relationship" with everyone's favorite Vulcan. What's best, he does it with enormous elegance and good humour. By the way, if you're smart enough to buy this book, pay attention to the "Will I Think of You?" page. It's damn good.

Summary: VERY GOOD HISTORICAL WRITING
Review: Leonard does a wonderful job in this work and gives people the background on not only his STAR TREK life, but also his own.The title is the result of the past "I Am Not Spock" book that he did years ago (THIS IS ALSO RECOMMENDED),and is a very good follow-up work to it.Good to have even IF you are not a STAR TREK fan,but just one of Leonard's fans.

Summary: Nimoy at his best
Review: I really enjoyed this book. It had tons of behind the scenes details that I love. It also showed his real concern for the quality of the show and his character.

Summary: an insightful compelling read - i couldn't put it down!
Review: This book is a must for any star trek fan who wants an insight into how the series and the subsequent movies came about. there are many interesting trivia facts revealed throughout the book that shed a new light on star trek history. however the most compelling aspect to this read is the insight into the man himself. you are taken into other aspects of his life and find them as important as the star trek aspect. nimoy makes an excellent author and i simply couldn't put the book down until i'd finished it. much more than a memoir - a brilliant read for star trek fans as well as anyone interested in the story of an actors life in hollywood.

Summary: This book was fascinating; a gem for his fans!
Review: I am not big on biographies, but as soon as I began reading this book I could not put it down! He explains so much about his character, Spock, and the ordeals he went through after portraying him. He makes humorous comments about how people mix up his name and how he himself spoke like Spock at times. I love this book and I would read it again and again! Leonard Nimoy is a very talented man, and quite funny. Like he and Spock say, this book will live long and prosper!

Summary: A Wonderful Read
Review: Nimoy's well thought and witty accounts of his conversations with himself and his pointy-eared counterpart were absolutely wonderful. I learned more about the actor himself but instead of losing sight of his character I became more sure of his existence somewhere inside Leonard Nimoy. I loved Spock even more after reading this book. Being only a mediocre fan of the original Star Trek to begin with this book catapulted me to a new level. Leonard Nimoy is just as captivating writing as himself as he is in an acting role.
