Summary: Great idea but other than that...
Review: After reading "A Dragon and the Fair Maid of Kent" I quickly bought the whole series and have found that no one book disappoints. Great series by a great author, and this is the book to start with.

Summary: Jim Eckert, Baron de Bois de Malencontri et Riveroak
Review: Ah, yes. Just the name, "Jim Eckert" brings back whole fleets of nostalgic memories. I first read The Dragon and the George way back when, when my dear father bought me the entire set, in hardback. It must have set him back a bundle, but I could see that he knew I enjoyed it. As I was perusing the archives of Amazon.com, then, I called up those abovementioned nostalgic memories and just had to write a review up. If you read just one more book this year, make it The Dragon and the George. If you read seven or eight more, make it the entire series! Gordon Dickson is, without a doubt, the most enticing fantasy writer I have ever had the privelige to read the work of. His research is impeccable, which is a rare thing in fantasy writers---authors, I should say---and the way he spins the fabric of the story is a true mark of a Master in his trade.

Summary: Enjoyable fantasy read, get it
Review: Dickson has done it again. This the first book of the series will drag you in to an alternate/parallel world of magic. Yet the story continues in the tradition of previous works Dorsi and Outposter. Read the whole series you can't lose

Summary: This is a true fantasy novel!
Review: For a book that starts in the 20th century sure does have a neat twist. It's about a man(a pretty average man)who end up in a very magical but sort of humurous plot.Like you only have a few credits from the auditing department.(its the amount of magic that you can use) Anyway,Jim(that's his name)has gone to a world because his girlfriend Angie was brought there by accident .Jim ,though finds himself trappedin a dragon's body.He ventures on a quest find companions that will aid him to fight against the Dark Tower to get Angie back.I reccomend this to any medieval fantasy lover!

Summary: An excellent fantasy by an top notch author
Review: Gordon R. Dickson weaves a tale of wonder and humor which makes one long to live in the world of dragons.

Jim Eckert, though a series of mishaps, finds himself transported to another world as a dragon named "Gorbash." He must defy all odds to rescue his beloved Angie, and attempt a return to his own world.

This story is told with a deft touch that few writers are capable of. Dickson succeeds tremendously.

Summary: An engaged couple are thrust into a magical medieval world.
Review: I bought this book because I had already read "The Dragon at War" (not knowing that there were any others in the series), so it was kind of neat to see how Jim (the main character) meets each of his companions. Each of the characters has his or her own little personality quirks, making them all stand apart from one another.

One thing that I really didn't like about this book was that the very beginning, when Jim and Angie are in the 20th century, seems rushed. This is probably because this part of the story has very little bearing on the rest (and is less interesting), but it was enough to notice.

I have the next book in the series, "The Dragon Knight" and can't wait to get into it.

Summary: just watch the movie people
Review: i dont meen to be a pain, and though i feel that in most cases it is much better to read the book than watch the movie, i feel that a flight of dragons is a much better movie than the dragon and the george. They are basicly identical except the movie is much much better. watch it you shall see
