Summary: The Clans Get a Little More Attention
Review: Although I may seem critical about this series now that Stackpole is no longer the front man of the books, this particuluar addition to the Battletech universe was a good one. If you're a big fan of the clans (as i am) then you'll love this one. Clan Wolf in Exile and the Jade Falcons have it out once again, and on worlds that changed the Clans forever. Twycross to name one. And we once again get to revisit the Falcon Guards as they fight to regain their tainted honor lost in the Inner Sphere invasion. Although not Stackpole, Pardoe is still a veteran of the series and has also written about the Clans before, so he has a good take on their culture. As for the book as how it relates to the overall plot, it pushes the Civil War to it's final chapter, End Game. If you're a long time reader, pick it up, because our grand adventure is almost over.

Summary: Acher is back!
Review: Archer is back and this time hes whipin up on the Jade Falcons! But he can only do that with the help of Adam Steiner, a very loyal Steiner general.I could never put down this book, the action goes from start to end. i realy recomend getting this book.

Summary: An Intriguing Read
Review: As I am a Clan book fan, I was beginning to worry about the fate of the Clan books. Operation Audacity, though not entirely devoted to the clans, is a pleasant escape from the books about the Inner Sphere. It is masterfully written in the style that only Blaine Lee Pardoe can achieve and the events of the plot are contrasted with excellence. Pardoe integrates the points of view of Archer Christifori, Phelan Kell, and various elements of Clan Jade Falcon. It's a pleasure reading about these characters for whom I was afraid were lost when FASA shut its doors. It is mysterious, intriguing, and I was not physically able to put this book down until I turned the last page. Read it. It's definitely worth your six bucks.

Summary: Worst B-Tech book I have ever read
Review: Blaine Lee Pardoe has only done his homework on half of the forces at work in this book... the protagonist half. His understanding of Clan personalities and abilities (including techs) could not be farther from accurate. I can't believe this was included in the main Battletech history line.

In one instance, a Jade Falcon tech completely ingnores the orders of his superior officer (who just happens to be the commander of the most prestigious unit in the Falcon Touman) and refuses to repair his officer's 'mech, causing a misfire during the hero's drop and beginning the absurd string of events that loses the battle for his side and wins the day for the main characters. All of this was done because the tech decided the loss of the planet and end of his clan's invasion was worth his punishment, which he believed would be as bad as a transfer. Blaine obviously did not read up on Clan customs or that tech would have known he could be serverely chastized or killed when Raville (the officer) tested his mech out before running it into combat. Oh, wait. The commander of the Falcon Guards, who won his spot out of tactical thinking and utilizing battle proven superior strategies must have "forgotten" to test his mech before fighting a battle for the planet. Yeah.

Supposedly, the Jade Falcons invade the Lyran Alliance and win some battles, which is hard to believe since only one actual battle in the storyline can claim a victory, or even close to a victory to the Falcons. This great force that conqured so many worlds in the months before the book's timeline began did nothing but lose incredible advantages and surrender throughout the course of the story. I mean, you would think that these guys have never fired a weapon in their lives before, let alone piloted a battlemech.

General Christifori's and Steiner's personalities are portrayed rather accurately and the dialogue is slightly above average. The writing style itself is easy to read and free flowing. Sadly enough, it's the events in the book and the misportrayal of every antagonist that ruins it and disgusts me. It is very much like playing a video game on ultra-easy with an invincibility cheat code activated. There's no actual conflict since you never once doubt that the hero will win the day by some act of God miracle.

Summary: A brief interlude to civil strife
Review: For those of us following the FedCom civil war, this novel provides an escape. Dealing with the events of the Jade Falcon invasion into the Lyran Alliance, we follow Archer's Avengers and forces under Adam Steiner as they attempt to blunt the Jade Falcon advance. Steiner and Archer, previously enemies in the civil war, must put aside their differences in order to succeed. The fighting rages on and familiar faces and places (Phelan Kell, Marthe Pryde, Falcon Guards, Twycross) pop up and provide the reader with a welcome diversion from the civil war. Overall, a well-written book. It's nice to see other characters besides Katherine and Victor duke it out. Also check out Imminent Crisis from the MechWarrior series. It deals with Duke George Hasek-Davion and the current FedCom civil war.

Summary: Worst book ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I really enjoyed all books Archer Christifori was in until this one. This really doesn't potray the awesome work that the author can uaually pump out. This Is a toatly unrealistic book ranging from 3 regiments up from usual one they had in the other two books about Archer. They really should've coutinued with the entriguing civil war instead of this boring topic of the falcon invasion. Much better stuff can be read {like the warrior series.} Read this only if you have $...sitting around or don't care about realistic settings and numbers. Only read if in dire need of Battletch serries or else skip this piecie of bad litirture.

Summary: Good read, but a little too much luck
Review: Thankfully, this latest battletech release departs somewhat from the civil war, which is a good story, but everybody needs a break now and then. The situation: The falcons are renewing attacks on the Lyran Alliance. Archon Kathrine sends a force too stop them, but much of the force is destroied in the first attack. It is only by the help of a Prince Victor sent force comanded by Archer Cristifori that they have a chance to escape. Together, Cristifori and Adam Steiner, the Lyran leader institute a plan devised by Cristifori to halt the Falcon incursion. As rivals fight alongside eachother, feelings change, and foes respect learn to respect eachother.

All of the battle sequences and the general plot were well thought out, and the book reads well. The only problem I've found is that things seem a bit to happy, because only very rarely do we read about any kind of a loss. Oh sure, they happen, but not to the main charecter. He wins, always. Just always catches that lucky break. Other than that, beautifull battletech book.

Summary: Operation Audacity: A great book.
Review: When I bought this book I just completed reading the latest Mechwarrior book so I was apprihensive in purchasing another battletech book right away but when I read the back cover and saw that had General Archer in the story line I went ahead and bought the book. So Once I started reading the book I couldn't set down the book. I was very impressed with the Operation Audacity. This book starts off with bringing back one of the more colorful characters that has been written into the FedCom civil war story line. General Archer is back and kicking the Jade Falcons out of the Lyran Alliance. The book read really well and flowed through smoothly and most of all it wasn't boring like the Mechwarrior series books. This has been a great book. This book has my highest recommandations.
