Chris Bunch with this series has convinced me that he is one of the best fantasy writers of the time. His collaboration with Alan Cole produced some great books. But it was hard to know who was most responsible, him or Cole.

This is serious fantasy. Beautifully written and composed. With these kinds of books the genre might be included in main stream literature by all those critics who don't think much of fantasy.

With this series Mr. Bunch has joined the elites.

If you like Feist, Weis, Gemmel and Jordan, then you would love this book and the previous one, "Seer King."

A word of warning though, this book contains more sex than what you are used to in other fantasy works.

I wish the next installment will be available sooner. I can't wait.
