Summary: This is for kids, like SW itself, so take it for itself.
Review: This is a junior novelization, and anyone who can't figure that out is insane. Now, onto the review. The story follows the script close as close can be, which is good if that's what you want. It is fast paced, and the word choices (THANK YOU VERY MUCH), are also selected based on the fact that this is for kids. It imbraces the fantasy element nicely, and for that, I'm thankful.

Summary: An excellent book that is perfect for it's target audience.
Review: This is an excellent children's/young adult book written by a wonderful fantasy author. Lucas exibited the greatest of taste when selecting Patricia Wrede and Terry Brooks for his novelizations, and I also applaud his choice to have a separate novelization for the younger audience. I'm very disappointed with the other reviews I read here--they are missing the point! To expect this book to satisfy the expectations of an adult reader is ridiculous and unfair, and was never the intention of the book. And to criticize Patricia Wrede for successfully meeting the requirements of her assignment is just plain ignorant! Before criticizing Ms. Wrede, perhaps these people should have read some of her other work. Then they would see that she is a very talented fantasy author and humorist.

Summary: All in all, a nice companion to Mr. Brooks' version
Review: This was a good book, not great, but a 5 because it is a good kids book, as intended. Also, it follows the story closer than Brooks' version, has more of a fast-pace, so if that's what you want, pick it up, 20 bucks (Canadian), cheaper than the hardcover adult version.

Summary: Star Wars
Review: This was the most disapointing star wars storyyet. The battles scenes weren't explained in great detail and there were some really boring parts. Overall it wasnt great

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This was a great book.
Review: When I was on vacation I saw this book in the store. I read the book in less than a couple of hours. This book was truly amazing. She does a very good job of bringing the characters to life. I am hoping that the movie is as good as the book. Like you others I hope that Patricia C. Wrede does the rest of the series.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Dull, unexciting, to YA ish.
Review: Who wrote this book? A child obviously. I guess Ms. Wrede does not believe in words more than 4 syllables. I'm a huge STAR WARS fan, and I hate to see such slop. Wrede portrays all the characters wrong, and skips most of the interesting technological details. Ms Wrede, stick to child fantasies.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Suitable for adults
Review: Wonderful novelization of the movie. Wrede adds characterization without slowing down the story. She should have done the adult novelization instead of Brooks.
