Summary: ~The Giver~
Review: This book is truly awesome! Before my reading class started to read this, we were asked to write an essay of what our perfect "utopia" would look or be like. The beginning is sort of confusing, but after chapters 7 and 8 you wanna really get into it! Jonas lives in a perfect world, where everything is the same. No one sees color, there is no pain or hunger, and mostly everything is controlled. But then, when Jonas is told what his job is to be, it is something he never expected. He is to be the Reciever Of Memory, the one who recieves ALL the memories of the past, even before people went to, as Ms. Lowry calls it, Sameness. Jonas learns the true pain that people felt before Sameness. He can ask any question and recieve an answer, because of his high honer. This book is really great, and it gets your mind thinking, "What would it be like?"

Summary: This book is awesome
Review: Although some might disagree with me, i find this book of the best ever. This book put me in tears. And no it is not some mushy book. I read this book 2 years but i can still remember the details and suspence it put me through. This book is about how people worked and acted in a diferent world. They had different feelings then we would about the same things. This book is a heart wencher that I would recomend to anyone. Because I loved this book and was touched deeply.

Summary: amusing
Review: I find the book OK: The book is written in an understandable language. The topik of the book is interessting. But I dislike the open-end, because some questions aren't still answered.

I like the book and I think it is very interesting. If you know the content it is very simple to understand. I didn't like the open-end.It is a actuell novel which is written in a easy way.

Summary: The Giver
Review: At first I think this book will be a funny book but it isn't. It's a very hard and sad story. You have no own opinion and you miss all the beautiful events in life. The people in the community live in a prison from which you can't escape. For me the book is very interesting - but sometimes a little bit boring. It's a different style than other books have - that's one important reason for me to read this book.

Summary: My coment on The Giver
Review: The Giver is a very interesting novel about how our future could be one day. There's no individual life anymore but therefore a very well structured public order which makes the life of every citizen in this new world much safer. You'll be surprised and maybe you'll have some conflicts with yourself because you'll realize that there are so many pros and cons.

Summary: only for insiders
Review: The giver is interesting if you like this scientific style... the givers end is very unsatisfied and one of those typical school books. You shouldn't translate every second word...that makes the book boring...

Summary: The Giver...
Review: The "The Giver" is a "wiered" book. Its storyline is quite unexpected, and basically the story isn't really what I like to read. But it turns out that the sense of the book is of a deeper meaning, and afer spending a while thinking of it I realized tahat it's at least a good Idea for a book. But honestly, the ending could be much better. I won't tell why, but be warned. After all the book is easy to read and quite interesting

Summary: boring book
Review: For us, the book "the giver" is written very well because the characters are well defined. But the story is boring from the beginning till the end! We would never read it again!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: their world is our world
Review: reading 'the giver' gives you the opportunity to think about the brutality of our own world. an ending which leaves space for speculation is the adequate one for such a story. many found that disappointing and disturbing, though.

During the ceremony Jonas will be given a job but something happens that Jonas isn't ready for. As he does his job he realizes he must run away but will he get by the security.
