Rating: Summary: One of the all Time BEST BOOKS EVER Written Review: I have lost count of the number of times that I have re-read this book. The paper back has literally fallen apart in my hands. I can not believe that this book is no longer available. It is impossible to find in second hand book stores. (a good indication of its quality, no-one is prepared to part with their copy) Someone tell SOMEBODY this book must be RE-PRINTED !!!
Rating: Summary: This is the only good sci-fi book I have ever read Review: Please reprint this book. It is one of the best I have ever read, I literally could not put it down, and I am devastated I can not find it anywhere!!!!
Rating: Summary: Hellishly Fabulous Review: My copy of this excellent work is tattered and duck-taped together, but I still loan it out to many eager readers. Niven and Pournelle are a great team, and have not let me down with this horribly wonderful novel about a science fiction writer who falls from a high window and finds himself confronted with waking up dead. In Hell. Loosley based around Dantes classic, The Divine Comedy, this book oozes competence and sharp wit from the very start and doesnt let you go till the last page is read. I wish it was still in print. If you see it, grab it...It's a dandy.---C. Smay END
Rating: Summary: Crank up the presses!!! Review: I have read Inferno a dozen times, my poor old paperback edition is tattered and barely hanging together. I have recommended it many times for each reading.I can't believe it is out of print. It is as much of a classic as Dante's original.
Rating: Summary: Wow! Watch out Dante... Review: Niven and Pournelle did an outstanding job on this. One does not know whether to take it seriously or laugh! Reading of Dante's "Inferno" is not a requirement to enjoy this book, but it helps a lot!
Rating: Summary: An Excellent Read Review: I recently misplsced this book and have been searching for it for weeks. It captivated me and forced me to read on. Many reviews will state that, "I could not put it down." However, in this case it is absolutely true. I read this book in one eight hour sitting. I have been dieing to read it again, but as I said, I misplaced it . Even if you haven't read Dante's Divine Comedy you will love this book.
Rating: Summary: This book is a must read Review: The novel Inferno, The author Larry nivin and jerry pournel. these two authors who chosen to combine forces to create a wonderfull new addition to inferno by Dante. I myself considered this far supperior to any sequil i have ever read that is why it is an additon rather than a sequil. It truly shows both the intelectual and humerous at times side of hell. This book is easy enough that it does get dull. But chalenging enough to keep the reader interested. I would recomend it to anyone who enjoys science fiction. or for that matter any form of literature
Rating: Summary: Now you'll know what to look forward to! Review: A truly wonderful tale of redemption and salvation. If Dante's Inferno interested you, but you found reading it difficult, look no further, this is the version for you! The most incredible thing about this book is there is no 'best part'. From page 1 until page 237, every page is great!
Rating: Summary: It measures up! Review: A wonderful "introduction" to The Divine Comedy. Very well updated for the 20th century, very intelligent, thought-provoking and - very funny.
Read this book - it is a wonderful read and maybe you feel the desire afterwards to read the "original" - one of the best things man has ever written.
Rating: Summary: Good reading, especially if you enjoyed Dante's Review: I really enjoyed this one. It was short (237 pages) but he hit all the high points of Hell. This is a fun book (if you enjoyed N-Space by Niven this one will be perfect). It's about a science fiction writer who ends up in Hell, and has trouble believing that's where he really is. For the better part of the book, he and his companion journey though Hell, visiting various people, just like Dante and Virgil did. He tries to pick Hell's secrets apart like any good sci-fi writer (or fan). A good 1-weekend book
