Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very entertaining!
Review: Again a book full of suspense by Doherty. He knows how to get a grip on his readers. His characters here are weaker than those depicted in the Area 51 series. But the plot is well constructed and makes a pageturner of this book. There is a little bit of mankind's doom and a reflection of the chaotic world order after the fall of the Soviet empire in this novel. A very entertaining book for lazy days.

Summary: exciting, thought provoking, could it happen in real life?
Review: Enjoyed reading this book so much I went out and bought his other 3 books.

As a woman in my 40's you might not think I would be reading an adventure book such as this with all it's fighting and killing, but a book that makes you think about the past, present, and future all at the same time by using national sites and recent events, for it's story line, had me wonder "what if" this really happened? Would we be able to stop it? Can we stop fighting long enough to help mankind or would our bickering get in the way? (like in the book)

Try his other books too, he had me wondering about our historical events so much that I am thinking about looking up past events in history to view them in a different light. Is his book fact written in fiction form? You be the judge.

I do encourage you to read his other books in order, because even though his books can stand alone, it's better if you get to know each character. Looking forward to seeing what happens to each one as the stories progress.

Ladies if you are looking for a mushy love story you won't find it here, but if you want adventure, suspense, thrills and sci fi all rolled into one book, don't wait any longer buy it!!!

Summary: Very interesting-- lots of action with some deeper issues
Review: Had a heck of a good time reading this book. Got it after reading this author's Area 51 books. In some ways enjoyed this even more. If you want action woven in with science fiction, check this one out.

Summary: Fun read and worth the time
Review: I enjoyed this novel. Not quite sure where it fits in science fiction-- a lot of action, with some twists and turns. Another book I'd recommend is The Time Patrol.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must-read for all who enjoys sci-fi and military fiction
Review: I first read Doherty's Area 51 books, but then found The Rock. A wonderful book that rivals any book I've ever read. The plot jumps around, but that only helps to keep your interest because you're constantly thinking about what has happened and what will happen. Also check out his web site for more information. He has wonderful many wonderful books including The Line, The Gate, and the Omega Missle. I highly recommend all of them.

Summary: REMINDED ME OF STARGATE IN PLACES-- BUT BETTER
Review: I had to think of the movie Stargate after reading this book. I checked the copyright date and realized Doherty had written this well before the movie which was interesting. I thought the ending was a great twist. Why does the biggest rock in the world sit in the middle of the Australian outback anyway? Very enjoyable and interesting.

Summary: BETTER THAN AREA 51
Review: I liked AREA 51 but this was even better. I thought the story was going one way, then all of sudden it changed. Awesome ending. Wonder if there will be a sequel to this book?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A very good book.
Review: I liked reading this book-- the pace was crisp, the technobabble at a minimum. Nice twist at the end. Also enjoyed Doherty's Area 51 series.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great read!
Review: I thought this book was especially well written with believable characters and an engaging storyline. I recommend this to anyone who is interested in a "lighter" level of sci-fi than the Area 51 and Atlantis series (of which I both enjoy).
