Summary: An outstanding book
Review: This has to be one of the best Star Trek books written. The detail to characters is outstanding. There is no one character for whom the story is based, each of the characters has a central part in the story. The new character of Evan Wilson has to be one of the fullest characters I have met in a long time. The personality of this character is truly an inspiration! I truly hope the author will once again write a Star Trek novel and bring back this terrific character.

Summary: Excellent Book, Great Adventure, 10
Review: This is a FUN adventure with some great aliens! There is no space combat, and nothing explodes so if your looking for that, go away.

Summary: One of the best Star Trek books on the market.
Review: This is a wonderful book and I recommmend it to everybody. I especially liked the character of Evan Wilson, who is at once tough, funny, and professional. The whole plotline [of trying to save the Eeiauoans] is great. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK! :)

Summary: Good read even for a non-Trekkie.
Review: This is one of my favorite Star Trek books(and I've read well over a hundred of them)! For a Trekkie, this book would be an insight into Uhura, and into the friendship and life of the Enterprize crew. But a non-Trekkie would enjoy it too - although the humor of the crew interactions - Spock,McCoy,Evan - would be missed.I enjoyed reading about both planets of cat-like beings and their cultures, and understanding the Star Trek humor made it even more enjoyable. This book is not the usual fighting or intrigue - just songs and friendship and search for a cure - and evaluating the process of growing up in the process.A good book to read and reread!

Summary: Uhuras Song
Review: This is one of, if not the best Star Trek origional series books that I have ever read. All of the characters are true to the nature of the television series characters. It is a fast paced grand adventure. One that is a keeper.

Summary: Elath! What a good book!
Review: This is probably one of the best Star Trek books I have read.......and I have read alot of them. it is about a first contact scenario. Eiaeou (did i spell that right?) is dying of a horrible plague and the Enterprise goes off to find a cure at the people's home-planet (which they won't admit exists). Evan Wilson is amazing. She could easily become a regular character, she fits right in with McCoy, Spock, Kirk, Scotty, Sulu, Chekov, and Uhura. ( did i miss anyone?). Great Book.....definately a MUST READ.

Summary: By far, the best!
Review: This is the best Star Trek book I've ever read, and believe me, I've read a lot. Janet Kagan's scenes are alternately delightful and heart-squeezingly suspenseful, and all of the book is, well, fascinating. My non-Trekkie friends loved this one too. The characters are stupendously written, with great climactic action as well as hilarious humor and incredible depth. I recommend this one. It's a real keeper. Don't hesitate to find yourself a copy!

Summary: wonderfully engaging characters
Review: This is, without any question, my favorite Star Trek novel. You may very well like it even if you don't generally read Star Trek novels. I have read my old copy to shreds and will be ordering a new one soon. The characters in this book are wonderful - intriguing and full of surprises, yet internally consistant. She manages to retain the flavors of the core Trek characters, and yet show us a different side of them. And Evan is magnificent. I want to meet her! The different world-views that the various characters have are, as Spock would say, fascinating. The plot has several threads running through it. The main one has to do with finding a cure for a devastating plague. In addition there is a thread about what it means to be a grown-up and the ramifications of being different. There is suspense in plentiful supply in both lines. Ms. Kagan challenges the readers' assumptions in many ways, and as result provides a great deal more substance in her books than most authors manage. Her books are fun, as well. Her other books (Hellspark and Mirabile) and her short stories are equally good. My only complaint is that she is not prolific. However, if one has to wait a bit longer for such high quality and entertaining books, then wait I will. Ms. Kagan has expressed her appreciation of James Schmitz, and if you have not read any of his work, and you enjoy this book, you might want to try his work, as well. There is a new set of compilations of his work coming out; 2 volumes published and 1 or 2 more to come.

Summary: This is the best Star Trek book of all time.
Review: Two well thought out alien cultures, a deadly plague spreading across the Federation, great characterization of both the regular Star Trek cast of characters, and the aliens, and Evan Wilson, as well. Even non-Trekkers would love this book. I think it is a real shame that Janet Kagan never wrote another Star Trek novel, and a loss to that genre.

Summary: One of the BEST
Review: Uhura's Song has got to be one of my favorite Star Trek books of them all. It is interesting and light, it does'nt delve to deep and keeps it very entertaining, after reading some of the more involved books this serves as recreation.
