Summary: Simply the best
Review: This book uses various experts and historical data to prove there is a Santa Claus. After reading this book even my wife (a non-believer) was convinced he is real.

Summary: Some strange things have happened since we wrote our book.
Review: When I and my colleague, illustrator Glenn Wolff, published Flight of the Reindeer in 1996, little did we suspect the book might impact world events. The nationally syndicated columnist David Shribman, picking up on information in the book, confronted the White House and learned that it had lapsed in attention being paid to the curbing of flight routes over the North Pole on The Big Night. This led to President Clinton's 11th hour issuance of the Santa Clause Claus, ordering all airlines to be careful up there during the 30-plus hours that Santa is in action. Despite recent turmoil at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., the President has not been derelict in his Polar-related duties since--as evinced by Santa's safe passage in both '97 and '98. Others besides Shribman and Clinton--and the kind readers of Amazon, whom we thank for their nice comments--have taken note of Flight as well. Publishers Weekly gave us a starred review and called the book "a charming new Christmas classic" while reviewers from Melissa Fay Greene ("a magical book") to Thomas Keneally ("At last a writer of great charm brings to bear on a myth which ought to be objective reality the graphic imagination and the narrative skill the subject deserves. History, science and anthropology are effortlessly marshaled in the quest for indisputable evidence of the existence of the Big Red One.") to Jim Doherty of Smithsonian magazine ("This is not just a spectacular book; it is a milestone in the literature of Christmas. What Galileo's Diologo. . .sopra i due massimi systemi del mondo was to astrology and physics, what Darwin's Origin of the Species was to evolutionary biology, Flight of the Reindeer is to Santalogy. Bravo!") have been very nice to our book. Now we'll see what Hollywood does with it: Flight of the Reindeer is slated to be a two-hour live-action movie on CBS, beginning this coming Christmas season (1999). Happy holidays to you all!
