Rating: Summary: Amazing book!! Review: Even though I'm an adult, I've always thought of myself as a believer in Santa Claus. Now I don't just believe, I know, with all the historical facts & proof in this book! Shows that Santa has been around at least 2000 years, & that reindeer do fly. For any other subject, this book might get boring, but when it's about Santa & reindeer it's absolutely facinating. I especially like the photos & interview with the North Pole explorer who stumbled on Santa's village...the only person ever to do so. It's full of experts on the artic, Santa, reindeer, etc. Also discusses the people in the world who are Santa Helpers. Everyone should read this book. Well worth three times the purchase price.
Rating: Summary: Oh so absolutely delightful...proof positive of Santa! Review: Flight of the Reindeer proves the existance of Santa and his Elves beyond a shawdow of a doubt. A wonderous wealth of information for the young and the young at heart. The "chart of evidence" is so compelling, with drawings and photos to support the "written word".......don't pass on this one!
Rating: Summary: wonderful book from a great author Review: I know Mr. Sullivan, and spent many hours watching this book come together. The result astounded me. This is probably the best book on Santa ever written. I reccomend it to anyone. And yes, I do believe in Santa Claus. The illustrations are also top notch, with great attention to detail. Kudos.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Holiday Book Review: I was just at the point in my life where believing in Santa Claus seems extrememely childish, but then I read this book by Robert Sullivan. Pretty soon it had me convinced that Santa does exist and reindeer really do fly. The pictures are very interesting and the context is quite convincing, esp. the interviews. Many people (or Helpers) are questioned in this book. Some people that give testimonies are George Bush Sr. and Al Roker. Will Steger relates his conversation with Santa Claus to Robert Sullivan, who, fortunately, wrote it down in this book. Sullivan finds a lot of useful evidence too. Glenn Wolff illustrates the book wonderfully, and I like the fact that there is at least one picture or photo on every page. I do love the format of the book and all the extraordinary photos Sullivan puts in The Flight of the Reindeer From Santa's finding of Rudolph to Santa's current sleigh, this book gives an explanation for just about everything. Every Christmas season, I read this book. Without this book, I would probably be a non-believer.
Rating: Summary: comment from the illustrator Review: I was working in my studio in Northern Michigan one day when the phone rang and a voice said, "Hi, I'm Robert Sullivan, a senior editor at Life Magazine. I've followed your work in the New York Times for years and think that you would be perfect to illustrate a book that I am writing about Santa Claus and the North Pole called 'Flight of the Reindeer'."
He went on to describe the Peary caribou, the species of reindeer that really flies, how he first learned of their existance in an Inuit village in Canada, and the amazing stack of evidence he had collected over the years, and was
asking me as an artist to interpret.
Within minutes it seemed only logical that, after illustrating natural science
books on subjects as diverse as raining fish, and swimming birds,
that I would be asked to illustrate a book on flying reindeer.
Rating: Summary: Funny, fascinating, fantastic! Review: Sure, everyone knows that reindeer fly, but how, why and wherefore? This wonderful book explains these mysteries so convincingly, even a Scrooge will find himself staring up at the sky on Christmas Eve, hoping to catch a glimpse of the sleigh. A treasure!
Rating: Summary: Flight of the Reindeer Review: This book is great! If you need help believing in Santa, read this book. It has an interview w/Santa, curtousy of Will Steger, the only man to visit Santa's viliage. Also, there are amazing pictures of Santa's Villiage, Reindeer flying, and much much more! This is a must have book. Totally.
Rating: Summary: Very convincing!!! Review: This book is specially good for people who don't belive in Santa Claus and flying deer. This will totally convince you that there IS a Santa and reindeer DO fly. One of the best books I read about this kind of things.
Rating: Summary: this book was Amazing!!! Review: This book kept my beleif in santa alive!! It told me the real story, the right story, the true story. It was the only story I could belive in.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Holiday Book Review: This book uses various experts and historical data to prove there is a Santa Claus. After reading this book even my wife (a non-believer) was convinced he is real.
